Neck Pain :(

I am getting the worse muscle neck pain ever ...
It is agony!!

I just woke up with it one day and its now been nearly two weeks and it is not getting better. Usually it goes in a few days but nothing like this.

My hubby has been so sweet offering to massage it every day which does help at the time but the pain just comes back... I think its getting worse.

Any advice?? Im going to see the doctor tomorrow and was going to ask to be referred for physiotherapy or chiropractic clinic..

Re: Neck Pain :(

Do you have a heat pack? Heat that up and place it on the effected area. Also an anti inflammatory cream can sometimes help, though see what your doctor says before you go applying anything.

Re: Neck Pain :(

Rebecca is right... My wife has always had bad neck pain and we have one of those moist heatng pads... Use it no mor that 20 minutes at a time.. And anti inflamatories like ibuprofen and sports cream.. Also you need to stretch it out from time to time. Nothing drastic just standing straight up, move one arm down straight along yous side until it pulls and hold it then repeat the other side.. Gently.. Don't jerk of yank.. If you don't keep it stretched out it will tighten up and just continue to hurt.. I'd go see a doctor too..

Re: Neck Pain :(

Thanks for your advice Rebecca & Karren. I will check with the doctor about taking an anti-inflammatory as we are trying for a baby...

I have been stretching it buts sometimes its too painful. Maybe I am trying too hard.

I am going to the doctors today, so I will let you know how I get on...

Re: Neck Pain :(

So i went to the doctor today and he is referring me to a sports physiotherapist... He did not give me anything to help with the pain but I should be seeing someone next week... It just seems so long away..
