Need help on losing weight

Hi, it is becoming swimsuit season and this year i want to look good and feel good in a swimsuit. i am 5'10 and and about 150 but i fluctuate a lot. But my problem is that i have a lot of fat on me. all my fat gets stored from below my belly button to the top half of my thighs but no where else. i know those are the main parts every women gets fat but how do i get rid of it. i do weights and run on treadmill or do ellipticals at least 3-6 time a week but nothing happens. i eat healthy most the time but on occasions i have like pizza or other high fat junk good. Has anyone lost their fat there that has a secret to loosing it? I need to look and feel good in a swimsuit because i am going on a big trip in the end of April. i am self conscious of my body in a swimsuit but i want to change that. any ideas would help!!

I don't know that there is a way to target specific areas of the body to lose fat...I think the body just loses it where it wants to. Just keep doing what you're doing and eat sensibly I'm sure you'll start losing weight. I know it can be discouraging to not see results immediately but it'll probably take a month or so before you notice any big changes. Sometimes inches come off before the pounds do, so maybe measure yourself and then check every few weeks. And if you do weigh yourself, try doing it only once a week. Good luck! I'm trying to lose weight too

It sounds like it's diet-related since you seem to be getting enough exercise. If you can, try to figure out your weaknesses in that area. For me, it was carbs so as soon as I started limiting my carb and overall white flour intake, I saw major results. A dietitian could help you formulate a specific plan just for you.

I don't believe you can spot loose weight, it comes off little by little all over. I have to agree with Demanda, thew carbs do me in.

I think you need to switch things up and change your exercise. Change the activity, duration, intensity, just something that your body isn't used to. Also, I'd add some strength training a few days a week to build muscle and raise your metabolism. It won't make you bulk up.

I don't know if we can do this, but anyway, spark people is an awesome site with lots of good articles on how to lose weight.

A lot of times it's not how many times a week a you work out, but the intensity. Try increasing your intensity (i.e adding more weights, running faster, longer workouts). Cut down on your carb intake....that definately helped me. and drink tons of water.

From what I've read you can't spot reduce a specific area.. If you store more fat in one area vs another then that is typically the last place it will eventually come off.. I've got the same problem and even when I get down to a weight that makes me look bad, that stuborn fat area is still there.. Guess there's always liposuction!

I wish you could lose from specific areas, b/c I hate it when I lose weight and my boobs get really small, lol.

Try having a few sessions with a personal trainer. They can come up with a program that'll help you achieve your goals.

Have you tried CLA it is suppose to burn fat in your body and turn to lean muscle?
