Why breakfast is important?

We all know that breakfast is important to help fuel
the day's activity. Physically and mentally, we'll falter
later in the day if nutrients in a balanced ratio aren't
consumed in the early part of the day. High-quality
carbohydrates such as fruit is a prime fuel source
for both muscles and the brain. Fruit consumed alone
will burn quickly, resulting in an energy crash. A simple
solution is to consume fibre, essential fatty acids and
complete protein along with the fruit.

Thanks for posting!

My body won't let me eat before noon, though!

Re: Why breakfast is important?

really ? why ?

i must say breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and i don't know why but in the morning i'm always starving and feel dizzy if i don't eat anything. usually i'll eat foods with lots of energy, and i try to keep the sugars and fats for that meal so i have more chances of using them instead of stocking.

Re: Why breakfast is important?

So how about this cereal with raisins & milk (good on fiber but not tasting like shredded cardboard) and a banana . Coffee low fat creamer, 1/2 spoon sugar. is that considered ok?

Hmm...I know that breakfast is important but I disagree with you about the whole fruit thing. Fruit's one of the healthiest things you can eat besides vegetables. That's why it's highly recommended, especially, grapefruits, bananas, strawberries, and melons.

I rarely eat breakfast, usually it's because I'm not hungry.

Re: Why breakfast is important?

i love breakfast! i usually eat curd/yoghurt with fruits, oat bran and some nuts.

hey, did you know that, the higher your bloodsugar level rises after breakfast the more it will go up after the meals during the day?

The breakfast shouldn't have a very high glycemic load. so it's very good not to eat a lot of bread and such. And not too much fruit because it has a lot of sugar in it.
(berries are good! )
Eat eggs if you like them. They will make you less hungry and you will have less for lunch eventually. (there was a study which said, ppl who had an egg for breakfast consumed less calories during the day..)

I'm not really sure why, but I'm never hungry until about 1 PM. If I try to eat something (or even drink a thick liquid) before noon, I usually can't keep it down. I'm not really sure why!

Maybe it has to do with sleeping patterns? Like I have a tendency of staying up late and waking up late (well, relatively speaking). So maybe 1 PM for me is like 9 AM for other people? lol!

Re: Why breakfast is important?

I'm never hungry when I wake up but eat anyway to start up my metabolism. I even weigh myself right when I wake up and then after I eat, and I usually weigh less after I eat.

Re: Why breakfast is important?

I'm good at having breakfast. After getting into the habit I find that I'm hungry when I wake up and therefore I'll eat something. It's very easy to get into the habit of not eating anything until lunch. I used to do that.

Re: Why breakfast is important?

Thank you for your comments and I love your
ideas but eating breakfast or any other meal we have
to be very careful and selective not to strip our body
of minerals eating acidic foods and creating the real problem
with alkaline deficiency.

People eat plenty of acid-yielding animal protein, dairy products, and grains.
The missing piece is an appreciate amount of fruits and vegetables, to produce an alkaline yield. Study after study has shown that most Americans 68 to 91 percent don't eat the five recommended daily servings of fruits and vegetables.
