Has PETA gone too far?

I heard about this new ad this morning and I was pretty shocked. I understand that the dog and cat population needs to be controlled but I think that PETA went too far on this ad.

Link to video

They are getting what they wanted. People are talking about it but I think people might focus more on the ad than the issue at hand.

Re: Has PETA gone too far?

Although I think PETA crosses the line on many occasions, I honestly don't think this was that bad. JMO..but, it's clear, to me anyway, that it's meant to be sarcastic and I thought it was kind of funny in an obnoxious PETA kind of way. By the way, I have ALWAYS spade or neutered my pets.

I agree

I don't know anything about PETA but this add to me is clearly sarcastic and it does gets the intended message across, I don't think its all that bad.

Re: Has PETA gone too far?

I can see the sarcasm in it, however, I do think it's a bit much. But PETA has done lots of stuff to shock people to get their point across, too.

FWIW, every pet I've ever had came from a shelter and has been spayed.

Re: Has PETA gone too far?

I find it clever and appreciate their humor in this. Wasn't taken too far and it hit a point.

Peta have done things in the past that are just ridiculous. Pam Anderson being one of their spokesperson is just effin' gross. They should be ashamed of her saggin' cooch promoting their stuff... eck, caca!

...I just don't see how it was taken too far though.

Re: Has PETA gone too far?

I don't think it was bad either. I got the message, and thought it was kind of funny. Peta does take it far a lot of times (like throwing red paint on people), but I think this was pretty mild for Peta.

Re: Has PETA gone too far?

I don't think what PETA does is offensive, ever. This is a problem and if there are ways they can get the point out then that's awesome. Just like she said to the reporter that's why I'm hear talking to you about it. It got people's attention :-D

Re: Has PETA gone too far?

Sounds sad, but I never paid PETA any attention until I saw it mentioned on this site, and even still, I don't think much of them until I hear their name on TV or see it on here. Trust me, I'm an animal lover, and I'd take in every stray I could! Alas, I have seen some YT vids featuring PETA ads or whatnot that were just WAY too much. This one doesn't bother me so much, but it is kinda ridiculous.

Re: Has PETA gone too far?

i'm all for being a responsible pet owner but it seems kind of silly to compare you children to your pets in such an extreme way. too far? i've seen worse.
