Re: America's Fattest City
Virginia Beach is 3rd fittest! Hooray! Might have something to do with the miles of beaches we have here to walk along, it really makes for a nice after dinner activity. I suppose you have to consider that this area is mostly military too, which means a young and fit population.

Re: America's Fattest City
Some exerpts from the site and reference sites:
The ranking "is not really based upon what a person does at the dinner table," Boulton said. "It's not about going around counting the number of overweight people. It's about a call of arms to mayors and governors to provide public health initiatives that will stem tide of obesity."
"The research was conducted according to certain categories, including the number of gyms and sporting good stores, the number of fast food restaurants per capita, air quality, climate, television viewing trends and availability of health care in each city."
The survey, done by Men's Fitness magazine, is really a loose interpretation of the city's health based on survey response + environmental/situational factors. For example, we've got a lot of thin people here in Dallas, but because the summers are too darned hot for outdoor exercise and because we have fast food at every corner, this negatively impacts our score.

Re: America's Fattest City
Louisville on the fittest? Very interesting, cause I've definitely seen Kentucky on fattest lists.
