Re: Check question.
You need to go to an actual check cashing store. If they are personal checks you may have some problems. Your best bet is having a friend or relative let you sign the checks over to them and they deposit them in their account and then give you the money.

Re: Check question.
Are they drawn from banks you have locally? If so, then even without an account, they can cash it for you since it's drawn on their bank. If not, then I recommend asking someone to deposit them in their account, and give you the money. I'm not sure if check cashing places will honor personal checks, and even if so, you'll lose a nice chunk cashing it there.

Re: Check question.
Oh you are in a tight bind. It will be hard to find a check cashing place to cash them i just thought of that as well. I am not sure if they have stores that cash checks. Some of the bigger grocery store chains like Kroger and Publix cash them... You can try them as well. You may want to go to yellowpages.com and put check cashing and call around.

Hopefully she will, because at that point, it's a 3rd party check (your mom being the 3rd party), and most places won't cash those.

Re: Check question.
Well my mom just got home and said they cant because I dont have a d.l. Its stupid to have to have your licence to cash a check.

Re: Check question.
Ashlee, I'd go get your ID. It's generally less than a driver's license, and it'll definitely come in handy!

Agreed!! A check cashing place charges a fee and it's a ripoff. I wouldn't go that route unless you have no other choice.

Re: Check question.
if youre getting checks you should get your own bank account. it never hurts to have somewhere to stash your own money and earn interest.
