My Ipod died I used it too much and the hard drive wore out, the guy at the apple repair place said it wouldn't be worth replacing the harddrive, that it would probably be cheaper and better worth my while to just get a new one.

I had the 30gb white Ipod classic... they no longer have white ones.. boo

30gb ones are no longer available either, so I am gonna get a the 80gb, and the colour choices are silver or black. I can't for the life of me decide which one to get. There is also the option of free engraving on the back of the Ipod.

Do you reckon I should do that, or is that too tacky? I would probably just get my name engraved if I did. What do you guys think?

I'd pick black too. When it comes to any sort of gadget I prefer black over silver .

I too prefer the black, but black might scratch unless yo have it covered? Getting it engraved is a good idea just in terms of identifying it if it goes missing.

The silver would probably hide scratches better than the black, I guess I'm just used to light coloured things lol The black is nice... I'm swinging... lol

I had the same white one you did Rebecca... I miss it. I have the itouch now. I'd pick the black one too... and I'd definitely have it engraved.

My brother brought up a good point about the engraving, he says, what happens if it needs to be sent back if it doesnt' work properly or there is a problem, will they take it back if I have personalised it?

Otherwise I would probably just have "Rebecca" engraved on the back.

I would think if engraving is part of the deal, there should be no problem returning it if its faulty? Best to ask though.

I just checked, doesn't seem to be a problem, the only thing they won't allow returns on is if there is a spelling mistake with the engraving, you've gotta live with it.
