Some people say it's good luck, but I don't think so

Ugh! It happened to me tonight! On my way home, a pigeon "dropped a package" on me. It got all over my forehead and into my hair (and also on my scarf, which I had hand-washed this weekend). I live in Astoria, Queens (NYC) and it happened underneath that (stupid) Amtrak overpass. As soon as I got in my apartment I took a shower and washed my face twice. This is not the first time I've been "gifted" by a pigeon. I've been told by numerous people that it means "good luck". I've never had good luck after that happened. I love animals but my love for animals stops at pigeons and I think they truly are "flying rats". Why do people feed these stupid things? Okay, I just had to rant.

That's happened to me a few times. Once my friends and I were walking around Waikiki and a bird just decided to crap on my face as I was talking. None of it got in my mouth (thank goodness!), but it was so gross. My friends still won't let me forget about that. I totally feel your pain. :-P

That's okay. Just make sure you don't giggle underneath that Amtrak underpass in Astoria, Queens. There's some debris in that air.

The first year I moved up here (from Kentucky), it happened to me 3 times. Every time it happened to me, I was wearing this one lavendar coat that I used to have. I don't know why the pigeons always wanted to "decorate" that coat, because I had 3 other coats and they never "decorated" those. After the third "present", I gave the coat to Goodwill (after I cleaned it with Formula409).

Think of it as a 'creme rinse'...well, considering half of the expensive stuff is practically crap I'm not too far off the mark.

When I had my convertible I was at the drive through at the bank and a bird pooped on my head. It was at lunch time so I had to drive all the way back home (about 25 miles) with bird poop on my head take a shower then get back to work. What an awful feeling. So sorry!

Ugh a bird pooping on you is the worse feeling ever. I remember it happened to me when i was in secondary school (high school). I was walking back from lunch one day & bam, it came right down on to my head and dripped on to my forehead. I got more of a fright than anything and starterd crying & was like "eewwww.. wipe it off me" and my friends just stood there laughing. I laugh about it now but back then it was a nightmare!

I call seagulls "Saltwater Pigeons". Seagulls are very nasty, too.

I hate birds too , especially pigeons ! They never pooped on my head but once at a park this pigeon came and stood on my head , I was terrified!

Oh, and there was more damage done today. Apparently, some of the "decoration" got on my purse (which I didn't see last night) and I wore one of my puffy coats to work. On the subway, I put my purse on my lap and the "decoration" rubbed off on the puffy coat. This is the first time this year I have worn that coat, as I just got it back from the dry-cleaners. It cost me $45.00 to dry-clean it (it's down-filled). Now, I'm going to have to hand-wash it at home. This is the first time I've tried to handwash a down-filled coat. Luckily, I have a friend who knows a lot about this stuff, so I'll ask her advice. Thankfully, I have four other winter coats.

That's happened to me before a couple of times...birds are some of the only animals I can think of that I'm really not fond of, birds and rats really...and pigeons, they're like flying rats to me!

Alas, with all that, my luck has not gotten any better...

In fact, I shoulda won the lottery by now!!
