Some things I Cherish . . .
It can be a song, a date, a place, a food, anything! Just post what it is and why it's special to you
Mine:
May 22nd 2002 - Met my husband
March 20th 2004 - Married my husband
Nothing Else Matters by Metallica - Song we danced to at our wedding
Knocking on Heaven's Door - First song Wes ever played for me on guitar
Long Branch Village, Toronto - The place I called home for 3 years, the place where Wes & I were married, the place I miss with all my heart <3
Pancakes - My grandma used to make them for me when I was a kid. I called them "Panna-Cakes"

Re: Some things I Cherish . . .
Kee, that is so awesome that you danced to Nothing Else Matters at your wedding! Awww... I love Metallica, that's such a unique song to have at a wedding, LOL.
Here's some of the things I cherish... I can really only think of a couple right now.
Mary Hopkins P.S.-- The school I went to from kindergarten to grade 6. It was just a happy time... before the dark period [age 14-17] in my life, when I had some nice friends, and people weren't mean and catty. My teachers were all wonderful and so kind, I did wonderfully in school, it was a great place. I met my best friend there and we're still best friends today I swear she's my soul mate.
April 24, 1999-- The wedding of a family friend, where I met my boyfriend for the first time [I was 11 and he was 13... we pretty much just played together, thought nothing of it, really]. Her husband is the oldest brother of my boyfriend [there's 5 boys altogether in that family, LOL]. His family came here from Holland for the wedding, and then after it they went back and I didn't see or hear Maikel again for 4 years until they immigrated to Canada in 2003.
May 30, 2004-- The day my Maikel and I became a couple He told me he still remembered that day we first met... what we did, even what I was wearing, down to my shoes that were too big. I melted hearing that, haha.

Re: Some things I Cherish . . .
I am so glad I thought of this thread because I love reading the replies!!
Kaville, wow, 13.5 years of sobriety! Good for you!
Hilary, my husband is the biggest metal head, so Metallica was a perfect choice for us Plus the lyrics have personal meaning for us. But when it comes to our wedding song we get one of two reactions from people:
1) You played Metallica at your wedding? What are you on?
or
2) Metallica at your wedding?!! Hell yea man! Awesome! You ROCK! \m/
LOL!
We also played the Apocalyptica version in the church, too \m/

Re: Some things I Cherish . . .
Hmm..for me
December 1999-This was the month, don't know the exact day, but I discovered that I really love to sing. Sounds incredibly lame, yeah lol
January 30th 2005-Twas the day I got my little boy, Punkie.
I Turn To You by Christina Aguilera-At every single performance I have(solo) I sing this song. From the moment I heard it, it just had a spot in my heart, I instantly connected with it.
Road trips to Vegas-It sounds boring, but I love driving late at night, listening to music, windows rolled down, just me and my family. They're always fun and just bring alot of memories back for me.
While You Were Sleeping-One of my favorite movies ever, I remember watching it when I was little and hoping one day to find my true love(Yes, I was a cheesy little girl lol) I love this movie, gets me everytime I watch it, even to this day.
I have so many others, but the list is long enough =]

Re: Some things I Cherish . . .
The three weeks I was in Italy during the pope's death, and the installing of pope benedict. I will NEVER forget it. I arrived back in Rome (before I was returning home) for a three day visit, and literally within ten minutes of my arriving... pope benedict was installed. i saw the smoke and everything. the bells were ringing non-stop. People were crying, and runing into restaurants and stores to watch the tv. I of course, ran right to the Vatican. That Sunday was the pope's first mass, and I was at the Vatican that day. The whole trip to Italy was a dream, and I'll never forget it. I'm supposed to go back this summer.
My son's birth. April 16, 2006. I can't believe he'll be a year already. I thank God everyday that he is healthy.
I cherish all the time I spent with my grandmother, and grandfather. I can't believe how much I miss them.
I cherish summers in Ocean City, NJ. We've gone there on summer vacations since I was a little girl.
I cherish Bethany Beach Delaware. Absolutely gorgeous. I go there during the summers now, with my boyfriend and his family.
I cherish sunny days. I am so happy when the sun is shining. I love spring and summer.
I cherish my boyfriend. He's a GREAT guy... I am very lucky. Although I don't remember the day we met. I know where, just not the actual date... neither does he.
I cherish my parents, brothers and sister. I wouldn't be who I am without them. I am so lucky they are healthy and happy.
Finally I cherish Jessica Simpson's song "Everyday See You" That song got me through really rough times with school.
I really like this thread.

Re: Some things I Cherish . . .
July 31, 1993 - My husband and I met on a blind date
December 16, 1994 - We were married
December 16, 2006 - Celebrated our 12th Wedding Anniversary
March 31, 1993, October 12, 1994 and May 19, 1997 - the dates my daughters were born. Each of them also represent my birthdays - 16, 18, and 21!
It's Your Love by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill - Hubby and I have made this "our" song as we just find so much passion in that song and the video makes it even more real!
I cherish my family - Husband, children, parents, sister, brother and extended.
I cherish the lessons in life that I have learned through the years.
I cherish the time I spent with my grandparents as they have now passed on, Grandmother from Steven Johnson's Syndrome (on Leap Day couple years ago) and Grandfather from Alzheimer's (on my sister's birthday about 5 years ago).
I cherish the difference others have made in my life as well as any difference I can make in others'.
I cherish having the life I have been given - it may be rough at times but other times it is so worth it!
