Hey everyone, just wanted to warn you about something.

Today I got a call saying my car warranty is about to expire, and I know this is not true. My BF got the same message a couple of weeks ago.

Apparently, there is a company called General Warranty Services that has been using these really unscrupulous tactics in order to scam people. They call people and send out postcards warning them that their factory warranty is about to expire. They're doing it all over the country, they're even illegally calling landlines on the Do Not Call list, and cell phones (which is also illegal), others have also reported them calling as early as 3 am and late as 10 pm (not legal for sales calls to be made before 8 am your time). If you try to ask them for their supervisor, or ask them what company they're calling from, they give you the run around or hang up.


It seems to have been going on since last December or so!

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up!

You know, I got a message left on my cellphone saying something kind of like this. I just figured they got the wrong number and deleted the message. lol.

ugh. I hate those stupid companies. I'm sure they do actually scam quite a few people but honestly, once people have figured it out, they will eventually get shut down, so why not be honest from the start?!

Nothing annoys me more than getting spam calls, I simply don't have the patience for them and hang up. If I wanted their service I would have called them. It sucks if they are a dodgy company though, I suppose quite a few get sucked in?

If youo are on the Do Not Call list, then report every single time they call; also there are a few other websites that let you report solcitation calls.
Maybe even report the to the Federal Trade commission? I don't know if they take those complaints- I know someone monitors these calls and sets the rules of what time time a company can call and such, so companies have to be accountable to someone.

Yes, if they call your landline if its on the do not call list, or if it is any cell phone, report it to the FCC.

You can register your cell phone with the DNC list- all of ours are on it- get yours on it and get it covered, lol!!
I don't know who- Federal Trade or Federal Communications or BOTH, but report 'em and nail 'em!

They are not supposed to call but they do, that's why they added cell phones to the DNC.
I kept getting called on my cell from some stupid Visa approval company and they had a bunch of different numbers but I sure did report them all to the DNC.

It took about 2 weeks before they stopped.

Ugh I hate spam calls. Our landline is on the DNC list and we STILL get them.
