Study!!
well I have an exam on thursday, and I've been studying for like, 2 weeks for this one.
It's precirculated, which means you get the questions, prepare answers, and then memorise them for the exam, because you can't take papers into the exam room.
This one is ancient greek religion, and it's basically 4 essays.
I was just thinking to myself, how do you best study? for me, nothing can beat talking about it with a friend or family member, just discussing it, and going through, getting it down to basic point form which I can expand on in the exam.
After that, it's easiest for me to write notes out in point form over and over.
What about you? how do you best study? (or would you, if you're not studying right now )

Re: Study!!
Yeah i used to do pretty much the same i found talking to people that didn't know was good because you had to teach them so they understood.
I used to re-write everything and say it out loud read it lots and then cut down to note form.
Or if it was a group of words/numbers I'd come up with some kind of crap ridiculous song and exchange words for whatever i was remembering.

Re: Study!!
Haha yeah is quite amusing to watch people that are in deep thought they can do the funniest things haha
I still use my fingers to count quickly, so im practically retarded.
Singing a lil song to yourself can't be as bad.

Re: Study!!
Way back when I was in college, I use to study like this for major tests and exams.
This was for AM tests only:
Say I had a test Tuesday at 10 am.
I would pull an all nighter Sunday night.
Go to school on Monday, very tired.
Finally, I would get home at 4 pm and fall asleep until midnight.
Get up about midnight, with a great sleep. Put on the coffee and study until 8 am. Head off to school and ace the test.
It helps if you have relatives or roommates that don't wake you up from 4 until midnight!

Re: Study!!
It depends on the type of test. Usually I make flashcards.
Teaching or discussing is best, but I usually don't have an opportunity to do that or the test is over something too boring to discuss!

Re: Study!!
hej good luck to you sugar!!!
for me i study after classes or clear a weeks work on the weekend. i need to read things over and over again to ensure good memories. also i found for myself repeatly writing the notes over and over again helps me memorizing things~!
i would record it in mp3 sometimes and listen to myself talking about the thing over and over again !!!!that helps a lot

Re: Study!!
First of all, I hope all goes well for you on thursday! Good luck!
Back in law school, I remember studying a lot a week (more or less) before the exam; I read and read all over, maybe 50 times to make sure I got it. There were so many things to learn, it was insane!!! Just thinking about it gives me headaches!

Re: Study!!
I'm hopeless at studying, I'm a crammer lol
The night before I read over and over and over my notes and make lists of all the basic important things I need to know in point form, and then I am usually fine when it comes to the test, the basic points usually jog my memory. I find though if it's a subject I really enjoy I just absorb the info and not much studying is needed, everything else...well lol

Re: Study!!
i make notes during the semester (at least i try, sometimes you just don't have the time) and repeat them out loud in my room until i know them. i also repeat them to my cat who seems to love hearing me, it helps her fall asleep on my bed ( ). sometimes we also exchange emails between friends and explain to each other somes points we didn't understand.
i can't work with my family, my dad could help me but i study private law, he works public law, so we don't have the same ways of thinking and it just pisses me off when he tries to correct me and i know i'm right.
the day before the exam i go see a movie, usually study that day won't do me any good.
i also like to make myself some tea, and i also take every few hours a few minutes just to do smthg else and allow my brain to breathe some fresh oxygen lol.
oh and i sleep. if i'm sleep deprived i noticed i work slowly, so an extra hour of sleep is good.
