Stupidity of the Day...

Well this is really dumb of me..... I filled out 2 rebates with all the stuff and sealed then in an envelope, addressed and stamped.... Then my wife finds another reciept... another $5!! So I proceed to steam the envelope open... takes forever!! And when I get done and get it open.... one of the reciepts I had in there was jet black.... it was thermal paper and the heat from the steam ruined it... luckily I just replaced the new reciept with the old ruined one.... but I'm out $5... how stupid is that?? hahaha

Re: Stupidity of the Day...

you know that always made me wonder. you are supposed to save all those receipts lets say for home improvement and home repair because when you sell your house and are calculating the profit all that stuff gets deducted. But with receipts from like 10 years ago those are unreadable. I guess the IRS is just going to have to trust me on this one

I've had gas receipts do that when I put them on the dashboard. I always wondered why they did that.

HAHA that is funny! i know that happened to me too before with fax paper, which is probably the same as the receipts that come out of the bank machines cause they do that too.

Re: Stupidity of the Day...

They do it intentionally Karren, You buy a product, it has a warranty and they give you a recipt on thermal paper. Well your lucky if the recept lasts 12 months. I recently returned a TV for repair under warranty, I presented them the photocopied recipt, the SA looks funny at me and I then tell him why do you give out recepts for products that have a warranty that are designed to fade??

I photocopy all my thermal recrpts that I need to keep.
