Thanks...But It's Just Not My Kind Of Thing.
Okay, so what kind of things do you get invited to by friends and family that just make you want to scream?
For example, there's a few of my friends who constantly want to go camping. I hate outdoor activities. Where I live it rains and it's cold and the last thing I want to do is walk up a hill for over an hour then sleep on a patch of mud in a tent. Everytime they ask me I just groan. Sometimes I have to say yes to be polite and end up going tripping over something and injuring myself and then as they talk about how great it was I look at my bruise/sprained wrist/cut and think "What's wrong with you?!"
So what kind of things do you DREAD being invited to?

My friends all want to go to Ibiza on a clubbing trip, I don't mind the odd night of clubbing but a full week..it would do my head in.

Re: Thanks...But It's Just Not My Kind Of Thing.
Mine would have to be outdoor activities as well. I don't want to sleep in a tent in the middle of nowhere, and I don't want to party out in a field with cows nearby...not my thing.

Funny Katie... Were going camping in 2 weeks!! Lol. In this though:
The one on the bottom... Heat and AC and comphy beds...
What I hate is when a coworker/friends ask me.... "I have a friend who has a friend who knows someone that has an engineering company.... Could you speak to these people for me". Grrrrr... Spent an hour listening to someone rattle on about engineering services in India...

Haha Karren that's ironic!
At least those camper vans have comfy beds and heating though! I'd just pull the duvet over my head and forget about the outdoors lloll

Re: Thanks...But It's Just Not My Kind Of Thing.
I do not care for camping at all, when I was first married my husband and I went camping almost everyweek, weather permitting, now I would rather relax with a cookout in my, or a friends, backyard . Beyonce - Lover of the outdoors, but not in the woods.

Re: Thanks...But It's Just Not My Kind Of Thing.
OMG where should I start!
A lot of times when we have big celebrations (weddings, 15's, baptism, etc.) we have alot of food. And most of the time an animal is slaughtered to feed the guest. Well, all the women usually gather afterwards to prepare the meat, which basically means cutting large chunks of meat for hours. My mom usually tells me we have to go to my aunts house and help out and I can't stand it with a passion!
I'll add more later.

Re: Thanks...But It's Just Not My Kind Of Thing.
I have to go camping this weekend with my bfs family for his dads bday ugh..I do NOT want to go, first we have to wake up at 4 in the MORNING and drive 3 hours to the Royal Gorge THEN we're going rafting ALL day Saturday and then camping and then have to raft again all day Sunday. It's going to drive me crazy. I usually like camping when it involves wakeboarding and hanging out on the boat but this does not sound like a good time. Plus I have to find someone to watch my dogs in 3 days which isn't working out so well. Maybe I should use that as an excuse not to go? haha
It probaby wouldnt be so bad if it was like a day trip but this is going to take up my entire weekend. Which I need so I can get things done around the house, and of course I love sleeping in which I wont be able to do! =( sad sad day
One thing I dont like being asked to do is when my bfs mom invites me to her plays and parties her and her friends have all the time. I love his mom to death but we dont have very much in common and I'm not into drama plays and dressing up and whatnot like she is. So I always have to come up with an excuse not to go.

Re: Thanks...But It's Just Not My Kind Of Thing.
any place i have to drive by myself. i have an awful sense of direction and get lost very easily. i'm generally in panic mode most of the time when i'm driving. if i've never been there before and i have to go alone, i'd just rather stay home.

Doesn't that drive you nuts!! I remember for my son's first bday party they had to slaughter two small goats. I completely refused to do anything with the meat because the smell just made me sick! Luckily i had other more important things to attend to so they didn't think i was skimping out on helping.
I typically hate going to any of the gatherings because you usually have the kids and women in one section serving the food and holding on to the kids and then the men playing cards with beer cans all around them on another table. I feel uncomfortable listening to the older women nagging about old wives tales and gossiping. It just bores the heck outta me!

I cant stand the zoo. I love animals, but something about being invited to the zoo or what not creeps me out. LOL.

Re: Thanks...But It's Just Not My Kind Of Thing.
I would like camping if it weren't for my allergies/eczema - or else it's excruitiating.
I'm like Laura where I don't like the everyday clubbing. It gets very tiring and being in a group of smoking hot girls and I'm the fat one is not cool. Imagine that!? Seriously, no jokes - not fun when they all get hit on and I get no one or the odd weirdos. Ugh.
I'm up for almost anything though. It just depends on the people that are there really.
