They Caught a Criminal on my Front Yard

Well my sunday morning was quite scary today!

I woke up to the sound of helicopters over my house... I went outside to look and it said LAPD. So I went back inside and double bolted all my doors. I was at my kitchen with my brother looking out the kitchen window tryin to listen to what the helicopter speaker was saying when someone ran up to my front door, slammed against it and tried to open my door!

I was so scared, grabbed my celphone, and me and my brother grabbed my sister who was in the bedroom and all three of us went into the bathroom and sat in the bathtub while I dialed 911.

A few minutes later, a police officer came to my door and said they apprehended a robber in my front yard. The suspect tried to run into our house while he was being chased, but when he couldnt get in he ran to the side of the house and tried to jump the fence to our backyard. He broke it and slammed his face hard on some chairs near the fence and the police tackled him there.

I'm just happy to be safe, and happy that he wasnt outside when I went out to check on the helicopters. Hooray for the brave police officers!

WOW!!! That is so scary, glad you and your faimily are safe! A good reason to keep doors locked at all times too, which I am so bad at.

Gosh I would have been so scared! Here where I live nothing like that really ever happens. Crimes hardly ever happen here. Thank goodness!!! The police officers here aren't very good either so I feel sorry for us if it was a high crime area. One time we were having trouble with a guy who kept coming to our house with a gun. I called the local police and state troopers because I have 2 disabled children and my husband works 4pm-7am he kept driving by my house and blowing his horn. I told the state trooper about this on the phone and he said there was nothing they could do unless he shot at me!!! The guy was just recently arrested for making drugs! He was running for mayor.......LOL This guy was quite the idiot!!!

Its so weird that it happend to our house because you always see it in the news and never expect it to happen to you. Its scary too because we usually leave our front door unlocked during the day (its a good neighborhood). Thank goodness I heard and saw LAPD choppers - I locked all the doors immediately.

I still think of what ifs!
