My doctor wants me to try a cream for my elbow, hand that is suppose to help with burning pain. There is only one pharmacy in the city that makes this cream ( I guess they mix it together?) and it costs $200.00! Hopefully I will have enough prescriptions this year to claim on pharmacare, get some money back. I just hope it works!

I think she said 3-4 months. Yes it is a cream.

I would say that they're so expensive maybe for shipping costs and taxes. Are you sure they don't have them on the Internet? Possibly a pharmacy online somewhere. Wish u luck! *chee* ;-)

I am considering checking online. I believe only one pharmacy in the city has the cream or they make it up on site. I will get the name and look around.

Wow, and I moan at having to pay £6/7 per item when I get a prescription. I suppose the NHS is good for something at least.

now i'm really happy i have decent social insurance, it's rare i have to pay something, and usually it's just a few euros. of course that said, i 'm healthy, and when i'm sick, it's nothing worse than rhinopharyngitis. i don't have cancer, immune diseases or diabetes.
the prices are also function of the lab producing them. basically they've discovered the molecule and are almost totally free of deciding which price it's worth. they make you pay the "brand". i personally think that's where lies the problem today, that health is just run like another business.

if your talking about the US its because Bush passed a law that basically says the pharmacutical companies can charge whatever they want.

I ended up getting the cream and it will be covered through a plan I have, luckily found that out. The cream is in 6 syringes (without the needle) I have to apply once or twice a day. I hope it works, second day now but too soon to tell.

WOW I thought Canadian's had cheap medical everything??? Through our Insurance company all persecriptions are $5 for generic and $15 for brand names...
