Here in oz, internships are not really that huge of a thing. Hardly any university degrees require students to complete an internship, so really, I don't really know much about it.
I know it's a lot more common in the US, and I was wondering if anyone had heard of worldendeavor.com before? it's a company that specializes in organising internships in various countries, including:
Australia
Brazil
China
Costa Rica
Ecuador
England
France
Ghana
Guatemala
India
Ireland
Italy
Jamaica
Mexico
Nepal
New Zealand
Northern Ireland
Philippines
Scotland
Spain
Tanzania
Thailand
Soooo... yeah. It's quite expensive but bearing in mind the places that I want to go, I will need intensive language lessons, which is offered as part of the service (80 hours a month), as is assistance with getting visas, help in organising accomodation, an english speaking person on hand in your new home city to talk to if anything goes wrong, free cell phone rental and free incoming calls, and lots of events and trips to help you meet people and settle in.
I'm interested to see if anyone has heard of these people, if any of you have used them, or if you've used a similar company?
If you did an internship, where did you do it? did you organise it yourself?
sorry this is so long! it's a really big decision so I want to be as informed as possible, and you guys ALWAYS have the answers! TIA!
