Marry Uglier Men And Be Happy, Psychologists Say
Psychologists reckon that happier marriages result from attractive women who wed uglier men.

And women who marry handsome men had better watch out. Men who saw themselves as better looking than their wives were more likely to be disgruntled and have negative feelings about their marriage, experts found.

The University of Tennessee study leaves 40-year-old Rhys Ifans set fair if, as expected, he marries 26-year-old Sienna this year, and it might also explain a few other couples such as Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas and Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller.

The Tennessee team tested 82 newly-wed couples for facial attractiveness and the quality of their marriage.

Their results, in the Journal of Family Psychology, suggested most men who married attractive women were happy to bask in the glory of their partner's beauty.

But Professor Jim McNulty reported: "Men who were more attractive than their partner demonstrated a tendency to offer less emotional and practical support to their wives."

He said "evolutionary perspectives" offered an explanation.

"Attractive men have available to them more short-term mating opportunities.

"This may make them less satisfied and less committed to the marital relationship."

Strathclyde University psychologist Alastair Ross said many men enjoyed the prestige of having a beautiful wife.

"Men are rated as more likeable and friendly when they have a wife who is very attractive," he added.

Well, my husband is quite handsome, and he defies this law i guess LOL
Mind you, according to him, i am beautiful, which would explain why our relationship is more stable, maybe if he didnt find me attractive it would be more likely for him to not be as committed to the relationship, i dunno, men are VERY weird sometimes, or..most of the time LOL
I have seen my husband's ex's and omg, i almost went blind. So i dunno lol
On a side note: I LOVE Marylin Monroe! She was always so fresh looking and so beautiful!
And is it just me or Katherine and Michael look weird in that picture? Like bobble heads O.o

It's the camera angle that makes them look bobble-headed (that was the first thing that came into my mind when I saw the pic too!).

Actually, I think even a good-looking man like your husband may perceive himself as being less attractive than you. After all, beauty lies in the perception of the beholder. As long as your husband is happy basking in the glory and prestige of a nabbing a beautiful wife, that's all that matters.

Not to take the title too literally, it just shows that men who are self-assured and confident about themselves are more likely to be happier with an attractive wife than men who are more conscious of their good looks and feel that they deserve much more female attention and admiration than one partner can give. That's just my take.
