Bush endorses McCain - the Kiss of Death?

the Dems absolutely loved that photo op to see Pres Bush next to John McCain.

Last election most of the Republican candidates couldn't run away from Bush fast enough. Somehow i don't think getting an endorsement from one of the presidents with the lowest popularity in history is going to be a good thing for McCain. Maybe not his best move.

of course you are right, but it was like making up something that would be catchy. Personally i have always liked McCain and it sort of pains me to see him with Bush who i detest. I can't say i agree with McCain's view on this war either.

When I think of Bush endorcing McCain, it makes me believe that McCain will not end the Iraq war if elected.
If McCain has any hope of winning the election, he needs to distance himself from Bush as much as possible.

well put. and Carolyn i think that has been a given as well when the election rolls around and nothing has changed over there its going to be like we need a change at the top.

I think that's where Obama is winning big. He can safely say he was against the war from the start.

Hillary well she has some explaining to do on that front.

They did have a funny skit on Saturday night Live with Obama in the White House and every 5 min hes calling Hillary to get advice on foreign policy.

I hate to say it because I do see Obama as a breath of fresh air, but his achilles heel is his lack of experience especially with foreign policy. I saw something from some senior military officer that said even if they were given the order to leave Iraq today it would be 9 months before the last of the troops would leave. and that takes in account the tons of armament that would just be dumped and not brought home like a normal withdrawal would have.

I have heard speculation of Clinton and Obama on the same ticket. That would be interesting but who knows if it will come to pass.

What experience does Hillary have ? On the Iraq War she was wrong, McCain too, when she was put in charge of Health Care as First lady that was a disaster. In emergencies such as she has faced ( Health Care Reform ) she was failed the challenge. McCain is Bush's third term and is not a straight talker IMHO, but a panderer. All three candidates are corporate shills, and neo - con toadies. Obama offers at least some hope, the other two more of the same, was and ecocomic decay. If Obama really trys to reform things as President his term will be cut short, one way or another. Corporations ( aka " The Militiary Industrial Complex ) run this country. At his address to the UN wahy didn't Powell show actually photos of the weapon sites ? Over forthy year ago Ambassador did in regard to the Cuban Missile Crisis. hillary is PRo - nafta overwise the Democratic leadership Counsel would not back her. Beyonce - sorry For the Long Rant !

Only if someone is being " blackmailed ". Why did LBJ, who was Senate Majority Leader take the VP spot on the ticket with JFK? I'd rather have a President that says he'll get the troops out of Iraq in 2009 (Obama) than one who says we could be there for 100 years (McCain)!!!
