Palin family members at the announcement of Palin's vice presidential selection, August 29, 2008. From left: Todd, Piper, Willow, Bristol, and Trig.
Palin eloped with her high-school boyfriend, Todd Palin, on August 29, 1988, when she was 24 years old.[7] According to her mother, the reason was simple: "It was a shock but she did it because she knew we couldn’t afford a big white wedding."[145] Their first son, Track, was born eight months after their wedding.[146] Todd works for BP as an oil-field production operator[147] and owns a commercial fishing business.[31] He is a champion snowmobiler, who has won the 2,000-mile (3,200 km) "Iron Dog" race four times.[7] The family lives in Wasilla.
The couple have five children: sons Track (19) and Trig (4 months) and daughters Bristol (17), Willow (14), and Piper (7) [ages as of September 2008].[148] Todd and Track Palin are registered to vote as independents ("undeclared").[149] Track Palin enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 11, 2007, subsequently joining an infantry brigade.[150][151] Palin's youngest child, Trig, has Down syndrome, diagnosed prenatally. Palin has said that she feels blessed that God chose them to raise a baby with Down Syndrome.[152]
Palin's announcement in March 2008 that she was seven months pregnant generated publicity and surprise, as did the circumstances of Trig's birth.[153][154][155] Palin returned to work three days later.[52]

Yeah, I also did the same googling. Interesting! She's very pretty. My hat's off to her son in the army. One thing you left out was that she was runner up to Miss Alaska, or something like that.

Re: Googling Sarah Palin - all good stuff i promise
from Newsweek
In the months leading up to November's election, John McCain will be campaigning with two former beauty queens at his side: his wife, Cindy, who was the Junior Rodeo Queen of Arizona in 1968, and his newly tapped vice presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who won her local pageant and was the runner-up for Miss Alaska in 1984.
So what do pageants and politics have in common? Bonnie Faulk, the executive director of the Miss Alaska Scholarship Pageant, spoke with NEWSWEEK's Samantha Henig about how the pageant world prepares young women for politics; which politicians could stand for some pageantry coaching; and why looking at fit bodies needn't be about pleasure.

Looks like the little acorn doesn't fall far from the mighty oak.
And don't get me started on beauty pagents - hardly an accomplishment!

OMG, yes, this is amazing in itself.
The facts are that the democrats were shocked and stunned that the republicans chose Palin. It's a large setback for them. One thing that the Rebpubs didn't think through too much on is that they can't pull out the "Obama, you aren't experienced enough"....although, she isn't running for prez and he is.
My favorite line from Karl Rove last night on the factor was "Obama and the Iraq war...Obama voted against it, but chose a running mate who voted for it....DOH"
Re: Googling Sarah Palin - all good stuff i promise
Oh plz. Sarah Palin would have to become prez when Mc Cain drops. Therefore she should be experienced for the part...
Palin equalized the field of experience b/t demo's and rep's... Plus it's not like these ppl don't come equipped with advisors. Saying that she isn't directly running for the presidency is a weak argument. If she actually had any, then the Rep ticket would be impressive. Right now, they're equally qualified.

Re: Googling Sarah Palin - all good stuff i promise
Palin is the least qualified of all. She only has a BS in Communications. She was the mayor of a town with pop 6,500. Gov for two years of Alaska because no one wanted the original gov to stay. If something happens to McCain (considering his age, isn't an unlikely possibility), do we really want Palin to answer that red phone at 3 in the morning???
Did anyone watch the RNC? OMG. I almost fell out of my bed when they said that we won the Iraq war??? WTF? I didn't get that memo.
Re: Googling Sarah Palin - all good stuff i promise
Your kidding me, right? Obama is the one that LACKS experience. His experience is a joke. He's running for prez too! He has been a senator for 3 years of which 1.5 years has been on the campaign trail. Other than that, what the hell did he do? Plus, have you seen how many votes he has attended? Remember people, we vote for the president not the vice prez. I have no idea why people think he's the Messiah! I'll take experience over hope any day. At least experience is real.
Palin at least has "executive" experience...of which Obama OR has none. Hell, Biden has more "executive" experience. Too bad Biden is such an asshole lol. He even thinks Obama's Experience is lacking.
Don't get me started on the Iraq war. You think we lost it? lmao! The only one's who lost were the CRAZIES at the anti war demonstrations out front. I cracked up as they were hosed down. Even the liberals wereN'T taking their sides. Go home people, don't you understand? No one likes you.

Re: Googling Sarah Palin - all good stuff i promise
Of course we didn't lose the Iraq war. We're now killing civilians and occupying when We've been told to "GO HOME!"
And now both Cousin Obama and Uncle Johnny are sayin that we should support Israel in attacking Palestinians, we need to gun for Iran... Cuz they are militant and engaging in nuclear proliferation...
But we need to be real. Uncle Johnny is standing on one leg. I do respect age, but he's passed the 3 score and 10 mark. He's old!! Real old! So in his untimely demise, Miss Sarah would be president, and if Obama needs more exp. Then so does she.
Re: Googling Sarah Palin - all good stuff i promise
Well I agree with reesesilverstar, and I also dont think that anyone is totally prepared to run a country. None of these candidates do anything themselves, they all have a staff of people helping them out. I still think McCain should fire who ever had to do the Sarah Palin vetting.
