Hillary Supporter Going for McCain

I was, and still am a Hillary supporter. I have though, decided I am voting for John McCain. Obama is not ready to be President and he does not give me a "good" feeling. It's a gut reaction for me. The fact he chose Biden is paradoxical, IMO. I thought Obama was all about change, and yet he picks a long term Washington insider that can only lend a "business as usual" demeanor to his campaign, that's change? All this talk about how many houses McCain has is such a joke, his wife is a multi-millionaire! Is he suppose to apologize for that? If I had that kind of money, I'd have multiple homes too! At last check, Obama wasn't living in the projects, I believe his house is valued at $4.5 million. Oh well, I could go on and on. But, I'll quit and end with this - I'm a Hillary supporter voting for McCain and I'm not the only one. As a side note, I live in MN and no way in He** am I voting for Al Franken. Really, AL Franken? Give me a break.

Re: Hillary Supporter Going for McCain

Very well said!

Many younger people think that Obama is about change. This is unfortunate. It's scary to think that our country could be run by his VEEP pick or the crazy Nancy Palosi...ooh I just shiver. I believe that Obama is a captivating speaker and can persuade people into believing in him. His lack of experience scares me to death. The democratic party isn't what it used to be back when Kennedy was around, if they were...I'd prolly be democrat. My grandma, who is 88, loves the democrat party, but tells me that they are not like they used to be...not even close. They were about change then. The only thing they are about now are moving our country down a path of no return with terrible HATRED for past and present true Americans, trying to kill our morals, take our guns away, kill Cristianity, give all my money to people who put themselves in situations, and scare you into believing that global warming is real and that you can do something about it(even if it was real)...just for your vote.

People, think twice!

I'm voting for Obama. I read that McCain thinks our economy is just fine, well yeah for rich people. Everything I hear about McCain just reminds me of Bush and that really scares the hell out of me.

Re: Hillary Supporter Going for McCain

IMO, Obama chose Biden because Obama has a "thin" resume. Obama has been a Senator a short time and before that he was a "Community Organizer" - whatever that is. Biden has the experience in a lot of areas Obama needs - mainly foreign policy, but with Biden's years in the Senate Obama will benefit in a lot of areas (healthcare, energy, the economy, military). I'm not saying Biden has the "right" ideas on those, but he has more than Obama. But, I think also Biden will be the negative attacker. I don't think Obama has that in him - since he envisions himself as some kind of savior.
Also, until now, I have been a life long Democrat, but this election has changed it all. Finally, I am financially successful and all the Democrats want to do is take my hard earned money and give it to somebody else. I'm real pis**d about that.

Re: Hillary Supporter Going for McCain

You're a Hillary supporter who is going to vote for someone who voted against equal pay for women about 19 or so times, and whose running mate is the total opposite of everything Hillary stands for? Yeah, okay. Click the image to open in full size.

IMO, McCain chose Palin to get the votes of disgruntled female Hillary supporters who want more than anything to see a woman president and right-wing Christians who think he is too liberal. And instead of actually choosing a woman who was qualified he chose a woman who was Governor of a state of less than a million people for 18 months, who admitted just last month that she has no idea what the VP does every day, AND is under an abuse of power investigation for which she has retained an attorney.

Damn, someone actually fell for it.

Took the words right out of my mouth... Sad thing is so many others will...

As if what Hilary represents comes minutely close to what Palin represents...

I read it and thought "Puh-leez!"

And Obama needs to be about change. He needs to recognize the "others" in this here "melting pot". He needs to recognize that the gap between the upper middle and lower classes is increasing, and it is our SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY to take care of the less fortunate and since WEALTH is what that divide is, take from the rich and give to the poor... He needs to realize that if the world is getting smaller and we're entering into trade agreements with ppl from other countries with differing opinions, differing ideologies, differing religions, differing policies, then we need to know how to get along and get to common ground with them. Not take up arms and bully them into seeing our point of view...

Perhaps I have been more thoughful about what I think is important to America. I was a Hillary supporter and contributor. I liked her, still do and agreed with many, though not all, of her positions. My gut told me she was good. As a Democrat she was my candidate. For instance, I am pro-choice and believe every American should have health insurance. I do not believe in rasing taxes on anybody and believe there is waste enough in government to make raising taxes a crime.

I do not feel or connect with Obama. For me, gut reaction is key. Change is good, for the right reasons. Change for higher taxes and dialog with leaders of countries that would like us to spontaneously combust, is not change I can believe in, for example.
Also, his associations with certain people make me question his character.

Therefore, I looked elsewhere and decided that national security, an energy platform that included our resources, and lower taxes is what's important and what I'm voting for. The fact that Sarah Palin was added to the ticket and that she is an intelligent and competent woman is icing on the cake (my original post was made before Mrs. Palin was named as McCain's VP pick, and my gut tells me she is good.). Just because I don't agree with McCain and her on everything isn't a deal breaker and for me, it's okay. I don't expect to find a candidate that I agree with 100% of the time and I don't blindly say I'm a Democrat and and vote for whoever is nominated, and this my friends is an example of what this country is all about - Freedom.

Did I fall for something? - maybe - but so far I'm enjoying the ride.
