McCain gets GOP Nod

Mike Huckabee dropped out of the GOP race Tuesday night, after John McCain swept the four Super Tuesday II contests and with his victories was expected to earn enough delegates to ensure the GOP nomination.

With his decisive victories in those four states, McCain is expected to reach the 1,191 delegates needed to clinch the nomination of his party. FOX News has learned that in anticipation of doing so, McCain plans to visit Republican National Committee headquarters Wednesday and the White House for the endorsement of President Bush.

Huckabee senior staffers told FOX News that the Bush endorsement accelerated their plans to withdraw from the race.

Re: McCain gets GOP Nod

i have no clue who i will be voting for. All the candidates have pros and cons and no one has convinced me!

Is it just my impression, but i thought the war would be much more significant topic and maybe its just that in the primary season there are more similarities than differences. But once we get to the general election....

I'm not a Hilary hater, nor a supporter, but i do think she has a good knack for coming from behind. Just when you think she's out of it... I think that trait might be worth something once it gets to the general election and if she is candidate.

Obama didn't have a great week as far as i was concerned. The tone of his speeches did not come off well IMO. I usually think polls are way off the mark but i saw something that said among voters that just made up their minds within last few days went for Hillary overwhelmingly.

I like a good race on the Democratic side as those states coming up really do matter! There is no way we should have been in the beginning of March and this thing should be wrapped up until the convention! and all those states that rushed to be among the first, look how stupid that is now. Can you imagine FL or MI coming up now and really being in the thick of it? Instead you have a mess on your hands like FL where they can't even assign delegates for that state. Whose stupid idea was that?

the Republicans did themselves a disservice by trying to rally around McCain and forcing Romney out. Romney was probably best "manager" out of the lot.

McCain speaks his mind which I like, but his steadfast support for the war and the way its been approached will probably hurt him in the end and he admitted as much.

What i want to see now from (all of them) is a clear consistent message. I think Obama seems to change his tune a little based on who he is talking to. (I try to catch at least some of this stuff on C-Span as i can tolerate)

Obama is still the candidate who is most inspirational. No doubt.

````````````````
oh yeah huckabee, glad he's gone, my least favorite candidate
Obama is THE MOST INSPIRATIONAL. Hillary & McCain promise more of the same. The next President will need our prayers. America, and the world, are in for rough times. Beyonce - Concerned Mother & Grandmother
Re: McCain gets GOP Nod
It's just so interesting how the democrat party can be soooo utterly divided over those two candidates. lol
Re: McCain gets GOP Nod
but i see that as a good thing not a bad. Now what the Republican race is over who cares even reporting about where he is and what he is going. Is anyone going to even show up for a Republican primary.
On the Democratic side everything still matters. Every speech every move is reported.
What is " the democrat party " ? Is it the opposite of " the republic party "?
Actually both parties are controlled by the same interests and those interests do not represent the best interests of the Amercan people IMHO !
Re: McCain gets GOP Nod
i doesn't necessarily have to just be the two parties.
There have been 3rd party candidates in the past and i have even voted for one, but kind of had buyers remorse like that was a waste of time.
Until then here are your choices. Pick one. A lot of people don't bother, but then don't bitch about it later.
