ST. PAUL, Minn. - John McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, said Monday her 17-year-old unmarried daughter was five months pregnant, the latest in a string of disclosures that left the McCain campaign defending his choice and the thoroughness of the background check of the little-known Alaska governor.


It was also revealed Monday that an attorney had been hired to represent Palin in a state ethics probe and that her husband, Todd, had been arrested for drunken driving two decades ago. The man who led McCain's vice presidential search team said he thought everything that came up as a possible red flag during the background check had now been made public.
"I think so," Arthur B. Culvahouse Jr. told The Associated Press. "Yes. I think so. Correct."

Sometimes you can't control what others do. People make mistakes and nowadays teens are prone to blunder more often than not. At least she's not shunning her daughter like Obama has done with his Pastor or anyone who starts to make him look bad. I'm not condoning her daughter's behavior either.

As far as the drunk driving goes, it was 20 years ago! I know a lady who's never had any problems with the law, not even one ticket and she took one sip too much. She got a DUI at the age of 42, barely over the limit but it happened and she did regret it. How can we fault Sarah Palin on not divorcing her husband for having a DUI in his early 20s?

I have yet to decide on who to vote for as I have not been able to before due to my age but it just seems ridiculous to me to fault them for others actions just because they're close related. Some of the worst criminals come from respectable families. I know association has a lot to do with it but they're not Gods with spotless records. They're humans with families just like us and her pregnant daughter just goes to prove that they are affected by statistics as well.

Teaching abstinence doesn't guarantee that all receive the message, but it will reach some whose parents instill a similar moral code in them... Abstinence doesn't only guard against pregnancy - that's the least of the side effects. We have STD's and other things that can KILL YOU!

Again, the media and environment socialize us alot more aggressively than our parents...

Ah yes, Palin. She's great. Want dirt? Just hit refresh on your computer. Yeah the media is all over her daughter, however she has much bigger issues. I'd like to post them but it'd take a while. She's like a reality show tabloid.
