Barack Obama has been criticized for plagiarizing a speech during a campaign stop this past weekend and not being upfront about it.
The similarities between the Democratic presidential hopeful and a speech made by by Deval Patrick, the current Democratic governor of Massachusetts, back in October 2006 are striking.
Barack blatantly copied several lines and linguistic speech patterns from Deval's "Just Words" speech for Obama's own "Words Matter" speech in Wisconsin.
I listened to this and the only thing that was the same was part of a speech- by MLK Jr- which if you think about it, a lot of people use- so I don't consider that plagiarizing...

It was actually a few different quotes. Not just MLK Jr.
But, regarding the two speeches, I think it might be a stretch to call it plagiarism just because they used the same quotes from other people.

On the news, Deval Patrick said that he and Obama are old friends and often collaborate on ideas, and that he said Obama could use this phrase? Not sure what I think...although I do think this is being blown way out of proportion.
After viewing the speech, I don't see where he's commited plagarism. Politicians often "quote" other figures that came before them. Many have "quoted" JFK, MLK and Abe Lincoln, etc
This is what makes me NOT want to vote Clinton at all, blatantly attempting character assasination over something so miniscule.
Why oh why do they not take the high road?
Set thier platforms and stick to it and leave competitors to thier own devices????
I despise politics for this very thing,
Oh, I should add that I would consider Clinton based on her qualifications, but not for the mudslinging, that sets her back in my mind and makes me feel as if she knows she HAS to do it in order to gain ground.

Isnt that what politics is all about?
Lies and corruption?
I hate politics, and the way that the government manipulates people and treats them all like puppets.

^^^ You make a good point, however with all it's diversity and equality talk, this country still has a great deal of mistrust when it comes to powerful women. Martha Stewart anyone? A presidential race betwixt (uh-huh, betwixt) 2 women is as likely as a presidential race betwixt 2 people of color.
