Senator Barack Obama is poised to clinch the Democratic presidential nomination on Tuesday night as he received support from a steady stream of prominent party officials, signaling that the grueling primary battle with Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is coming to a close.



The burst of announcements came as voters cast their ballots on Tuesday in South Dakota and Montana, the final stops in a 16-month primary campaign that wound through every state and American territory. Regardless of the results, Mr. Obama should receive enough delegates in those two states to assure him the nomination.

My only comment about this is that Obama has really been limping to the finish line. He may be getting pushed over the finish line with a chorus of senators declaring him the winner, but i think it definitely is (and should be) a concern for his campaign. (my opinion)

I am absolutely thrilled to bits that he will get the nomination. I think with Hilary it will be a "triple threat"for the Repubs. I know some registered Repubs who said they will vote for Obama over McCain. And if she is on the ticket as VP, what a historic time for the U.S. RIGHT ON, BARACK AND HILARY!! Let's go to the White House!!
