Question The Blackest Mascara

I dont know why but I totally love mascaras that are SUPER black, but for some reason it seems hard to find. I have found MACs Plushlash to be darker than most, but still not very impressed with it. I also like Maybellines Great Lash in that blackest black color.

I am still looking for something better though! Does anybody know any pitch black mascaras?

I remember reading a thread on this awhile back also, but I did a search and couldnt find what I was looking for. Hope you girls can help me!

Re: The Blackest Mascara

I think that Loreal's Voluminous in Carbon Black is pretty darn black! And not to mention a really great mascara.

I really like L'oreal's Carbon Black too. I don't use it much though because I prefer waterproof mascara.

Re: The Blackest Mascara

Dior's Diorshow Blackout is very black, as well. There's something in the formula...resin maybe?...that's really black and has reflective properties for a dark, wet look.

The blackest one I've tried was Maybelline Lash Stylist. It might be hard to apply to curly/thick lashes though.

Haha Mari you must know me lol. Ive tried Lash Stylist before, and while it was very black and I liked it alot, even after I got the hang of using the comb, my curly lashes still didnt really agree with it.

Thanks for the high and low end recs everybody! It gives me a place to start looking at least, I live an hour drive from Sephora

Re: The Blackest Mascara

So this is a little OT from my original post, I still want to know if you know of a really black mascara!

BUT I am now wondering, as this is very important to me lol, does the Diorshow Blackout or the Loreal Voluminous leaves lashes crispy/stiff? I hate that. Also if it will start flaking and fall in my contact lenses thats also no good.

Re: The Blackest Mascara

carbon black doesnt flake or get too dry as long as you replace it before it gets all old.i am also a big fan of very black mascaras and i love carbon black.not to mention it would be alot cheaper and easier to get since you live so far from sephora

Oh ok thanks for that! Yea I am a pretty big fan of replacing my mascara every 1-2 months, it goes on better when its new. And yes it would be alot easier for me to get, so Ill probably go look for it soon. Maybe if I end up driving the way to Sephora for some other shopping Ill stop in and try Blackout too.

Re: The Blackest Mascara

Try Rimmel's Eye Magnifier eye widening mascara in Extremely Black - I am loving this stuff right now. I think it's blacker than the Voluminous in Carbon - which I've tried too (but it was a long time ago).

Re: The Blackest Mascara

I have often wondered the same thing, I never wear anything but black mascara but sometimes it seems like ray black or chrcoal black, and its so misleading! So far I have found Smashbox or Bourjois to have the blackest black, shade and there is always the toekn pink and green maybelline that everyone seems to swear by, but since I have longer lashes I need a larger brush.

Awesome post!
