Question Hardened eyeshadow...

So I bought this really pretty powder e/s by L'oreal (Single Wear Infinite in Reflecting Pool 205) and it is really hard. I have rubbed my finger really hard to hopefully get some off but when it does transfer, it wont even come off my finger when i rub it on my hand. The sponge applicator doesn't do much to and anyways, I prefer brushes. I tried a brush as well and of couse nothing came off!

Any recommedations and how to make it more softer? I would hate to have to crush it and make a "pigment' ot of it but it seems that that may be my only choice.

Re: Hardened eyeshadow...

Have you tried scraping the top layer off with a (clean) fingernail? Maybe that would help if you're able to scratch off the top layer.

I think if moisture gets into an eyeshadow, it can cause the top layer to harden if it's not meant to be a wet/dry shadow.

Actually I think that worked. I scratched a small area and you can see how soft it actually is underneath! Thanks!!

Re: Hardened eyeshadow...

I scratch a small area off the top with a nail filer, of course a clean one, i have one from BenNye, i don't remember the shade, i think its called Rouge, but its a flame red one, and it is so hard i can't get any of it if i don't scratch some off the top, so i think that is the best idea in this case

Re: Hardened eyeshadow...

I've had hard eyeshadows before and I just use a card to scrape off the top layer.
