A Little Advice on Make-up
I would first like to apologize in case im doing this wrong but I don't know how to use the site or where to post my questions. Anyway, I need some help. My prom is coming up and my dress is champagne colored. I was just wondering what colors I should use on my face for eye, blush, and lips. I'd like to emphasize my eyes rather than my lips. Also I have tan skin, dark brown hair, and brown eyes. Any help would be highly appreciated. And in case I wont see your replies, contact me on my profile. Thanks a lot!!!

Re: A Little Advice on Make-up
i think the colors you use depend on your skintone as much as it does your dress. you don't want to be overly dramatic for prom, and if you can i would suggest going to a makeup artist and asking her for her advice and have her point out some products. maybe she can also do a testrun and give you a makeover so you can see what her makeover looks like, and then come back and get it done for prom. this is a popular way of getting makeup done for prom.

Re: A Little Advice on Make-up
Eye makeup in brown tones for a natural result, in purple tones for more dramatic, peach coloured blush and lipstick/gloss. I think this could be nice..

Re: A Little Advice on Make-up
yea I agree. it depends on your skintone. If you are warm toned, stick to peaches, reds, browns and golds. Cool toned, stick to purples, pinks and blues. You can check by looking at your veins. If they are blue, then youre cool toned. Cool colors will loook best on you. If youre veins are green, then you are warm toned. Warm colors look best on you.
I love doing makeup! I would also recommend going to a makeup artist if youre not too familar with makeup and its application. I am only saying that because it takes quality brushes as well as skillful application to bring out the best of makeup and your beauty. Anywho, I would recommend going to Bobbi Brown if you are looking for a dramatic yet, natural look. If you are more into the heavy glamour, dramatic type of look, (think of MAC models), then I would go to MAC. I personally feel tho, MAC foundations are too heavy, almost drag queen looking. Most cosmetic counters will give complimentary makeovers with a purchase of usually 50-80 dollars worth of cosmetics. hope that helps and have fun on your big day! |
