Re: MAC foundation?
Hmm, I'm wondering the same thing. I hear that their foundations have so many colors to match with but that their so thick, like a mask. i wanna go sample before I actually buy. You should go and try and get some and make sure your skin's not too sensitive.

Re: MAC foundation?
I like the studio fix foundatin powder and the fluid one. I like their foundation because a little goes a long way. I think it really depends on how you apply them. Also, they have sheer foundations like the SPF 15. I've got oily skin as well as acne prone skin and I have found the powder and fluid work best for me. Althugh, If you can, try the CARGO oil-free foundation, the one that comes in a little pouch, not the powder form. It is my HG foundation! Its ser one of the best and the only one I have ever repurchased.

Re: MAC foundation?
I love my Make Up For Ever Liquid Lift foundation! I have combo skin, and the one time I tried the liquid MAC Studio Fix, my skin rejected it.
You should definitely get samples before you commit!

Re: MAC foundation?
I have oily skin too and I love MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. I apply it with a duo fiber brush and it gives me a flawless matte coverage. The powder is very finely milled and it goes on silky smooth. I can get full coverage with just 2 to 3 light layers.

Re: MAC foundation?
If you have oily skin, stay away from MAC foundations. In general, people should stay away from their foundations. LOL So many people (especially with oily skin) tend to breakout with their foundations. And like a few people already mentioned, their products are rather thick, so unless you can thin them down, I wouldn't bother.

Hi<
I agree. Make sure you only leave with samples of foundations you tested.

Re: MAC foundation?
MAC Studio Fix Fluid and the stick foundations can look thick if they are not applied lightly.
If you don't have many blemishes or acne scars, I'd try MAC's tinted moisturizer with one dab of Studio Fix Fluid; mix them together and spread it lightly over your face. I use my fingertips to mix them. It looks very sheer and natural, but not too naked. I then brush MAC Blot Powder over my face. My face stays flawless the entire day and I have oily skin. I also use concealer under my eyes.

Re: MAC foundation?
I'd recommend staying away from them. I've always had a clean face with no breakouts and all it took to destroy my perfect skin was using the SFP 15 for a couple of months. At first I thought there was something wrong with my moisturiser, but then I found out that other people had the same problem, too. My sister used the StudioFix and also got breakouts. I'm now considering throwing the powder away to make sure.
Surely, there are also people who get no breakouts and use these products with no problems. But... really... do you want to risk it? In case you do get breakouts, it'll take months before you get to what you were before. I am so angry about this you wouldn't believe it. I love MAC eyeshadows, but I'll stay the hell away from foundations and powders.

Re: MAC foundation?
Ugh, I love Studio Fix Fluid and it's my shade and all... I'm a big fan of liquid oppose to powder. But, unfortunately after like half a year - I had to finally stop using it. It was breaking me out big time. I thought it was something else, like dirty brushes or whatever. But no
It's different for everyone though - I see girls who wear it often and nothing happens to them. Also, their Studio Fix powder one is good. I have that too but stopped using it. I'm just too scared to go back to MAC foundation... even their concealers. Blah.

Well to really be able to tell you what to maybe try out, answer a couple more questions...
- What type of coverage are you looking for? Just a sheer tint? Evening the skin a bit, or lots of coverage?
- Do you prefer a liquid, creme or powder?
- When you say your skin is oily, is it just in the T zone (which is pretty normal) or is it literally your entire face is greasy?

It really depends on what you are looking for as far as foundation whether it has a lot of coverage or not... Lighter options for foundations would be Hyper Real, Face and Body (my fave), Select Tint, and Moistureblend foundations. I would definitely recommend everyone to try them out at a MAC Counter or Store before you buy it and get artist recommendations!!

I have severely breakout prone skin, as in I went on Accutane for 9 mos and still break out if I am not careful. ANY person can break out if something isn't right for their skin or if they are not cleansing their skin properly. I also still have fairly oily skin and I don't have a problem with our foundations and I wear full makeup on a daily basis and not heavy coverage...
Unless you really have done your research be careful what you say bc it will give people incorrect impressions. I have used MAC for 3+ yrs, skincare and makeup products and my skin has gotten better than when I used "acne products" and other makeup brands.
