Evening guys
After 5 years of wearing glasses iv took the plunge and im now wearing contact lenses.
Now although they are my eyes and i looked at them everyday i never realised how blue they are.Now im not being big head but I personally feel i look much prettier without them and i now want to make the most of my eyes.

I have the typical blond hair that comes with the blue eyes, but I was hoping you clued up people can possible recommend the best colours for me to wear in order to really make my eyes stand out and sparkle.

I would so thankful if anyone can help as I want to get this sorted as I got away with my partner in 5 weeks to Tunisia and the second night there we will have been together 2 years and iv finally lost enough weight to fit into a gorgeous dress and want to surprise him, by looking stunning!

What sort of coloring is your skin - how fair or tan will you bee, is your skin more pinkish or more yellowish or more peachy?

Generally, if you want your eyes to look their bluest, choose shadows that are opposite their color on the color wheel.

Orange is opposit blue, yellow is opposite purple, red is opposite green.

So what that means for makeup is this:

Orange = peach, copper, bronze, etc.
Yellow = gold, camel, caramel, etc.
Red = pink, wine, burgundy, fuschia, etc.

Play with the families to see what suits not only your eyes and hair but also skintone the best - up the intensity, mute it down a bit, have fun!

Im actually quite pale and have a pinkish skin tone.Im 23 and about 6 months ago have only just found a base i love lol

Thanks for the info on the colour wheel, iv got a some orange toned eyeshadows and lip colours already in my case, so will have a play with them

What would you say about greens?I have a nice pale green but was wanting to try something like an emerald green.

i love the golds and bronzes.i have green eyes and im afraid they dont work well for me..
a really pretty gold is old gold pigment by mac(a bit expensive)but i order it off of ebay.it is what i like to call a flipflop color as in it has greenish and brown tints in it and it has a metallic sparkle.it can be worn for nite and day depending on how heavy it is applied.a very seductive glam shad

Sounds nice, just done a search for it on ebay,its actually really handy you both mention those sort of shades as I already have a lot in my collection, with a few pinks and purples too, which iv generally been using if i just wanted a fresh look with a bit of blush and couple of coats of mascara.
Actually talking of mascara is there a particular colour i should be using or not?

black for sexy eyes , you can never go wrong with it, i think. people will tend to say it may be too harsh for blue eyes and advise you to use brown mascara instead.
because i'm using both, i truly think it's a matter of personal preference. as long as it makes my lashes longer i don't care about the color lol.

you can get the best of both worlds if you find a brown black color.but personally i love the intense look of black

i have always used pink eyeshadows and brown eyeliners to really bring out my eyes.
i stay away from black cause i think it is to big of a contrast ( i have naturaly blonde eyelashes)
and i like that the pink is the natural color of my eyelids but enchanced

Orangeeyecrayon- I know what your saying about the pink colours.I tend to use them when im wanting a really fresh look as it looks like im not really wearing any at all but everyhting look nice and smooth and fresh.Never considered a brown eye liner, will pick one up at the weekend

Congrats on all the stuff thats going on for you!

I love blue eyes. I have had blue contacts for about 6 months now and I am loving my makeup with them.

If you want a more sexy look: frame your eyes with deep black lashes. Use a dark brown or black eyeliner on the top lashline, and a grey or bronze on the bottom, depending what you used on top. Use a golden highlight, and a subtle black or brown in the crease.

A more natural look: Brown mascara, bronze eyeliner, golden subtle eyeshadow, I know it may sound boring but it really brings out the blue.

A subtle look that makes my blue eyes pop: Black mascara, a shimmery medium grey eye pencil on top and bottom lashline, black eyeliner on waterline, and a pearly highlight.

Get some more posts and I can show you some pictures! Also, deep blue navy colors look beautiful too. And pink and purple colors can make you look fresh, although you can also go smoky and sexy with a deep purple, just be careful because purple can also look like a bruise lol.

Hi thanks for that, really glad for all the advice, im currectly bidding ona gorgeous simmery gold and also mac old gold.I already have a brown and black mascara and black eyeliner
Im shopping to morrow for my hols so will try and pick up a brown/grey eye liner i'll also see if I can get a highlighter.Does it have to be a highlighter or can I use a light shade eyeshadow.
Im so out of touch with putting eye make up on.With wearing my glasses I never really bother.

I can for the life of me get the hang of putting eyeliner on my top lids, so il have to practice somemore

Think il look and see how much I can get on ebay too

The gold shadow sounds really good, as the dress im wearing for our anniversaqry is a light cream, with pinks and brwons and it will go great

Brown and gold would look totally hot with a light cream color dress.

By highlight for under your brow bone, I mean a light eyeshadow, sorry if that confused you.

Lining the top lid is truly only perfected after countless amounts of practicing, I think we can all agree on that lol. Since your just getting into it, use a soft pencil thats easily smudged/erased and that glides on smoothly. If your line goes on too thick or crooked, you can smudge or erase the unwanted parts with a Qtip.

Apply it also in two parts, like from the outer corner to the middle, then from the middle in. Its a little hard to explain. Check out some tuturiols that would probably help alot

Thanks for that dont worry about confusing me.Like I said a pretty much stopped wearing make up, until I lost my weight and started feeling better about myself.
Iv got a lovly shimmery cream I used for highlighting at the weekend and and it looked gorgeous.Also picked up a brown and bronze eye liner.
Going to practice with the make up before I go away so i know that look Id like to go with my dress

I think after all this help I should really update this thread with pictures whe I get back

Im getting a milani eyeshadow in shock and think i may try somemore really bright colours.
Are there any bright colours you find that look really good?
Im also waiting on an emerald green eyeshadow coming cant wait
