Gift Urgent! Mix and Match!

I've seen alot on vids on youtube about lipstick and lipliner and I was wondering.
How do you find a lipliner and a lipstick that match exactly?
I know some companies tell you but alot of them don't.
I ask mac artists which lipliners and lipsticks would complement each other but its never the same color.
Also, has anyone has use a professional lip palette to lighten or darken their lipsticks/gloss.
I've seen shu uemura with the black lipstick and white lipsticks but...

Re: Ergent! Mix and Match!

It is difficult to find matching lipliner to lipstick and I have read in some book that just buy a lipliner close to the colour of your lips then u can use it with any colour lipstick, or use the same lipstick as a liner which mean first outline the lips with a brush using the lipstick.

Re: Urgent! Mix and Match!

The latter part would be difficult for me.
I know about the neutral lipliner but sometimes I want a matching lipliner to the lipstick.
By the way, does anyone know what lip wax is? (not waxing the lip)

Re: Urgent! Mix and Match!

Aren't you supposed to blend the colors together? Thats what I do anyway. I wear a lot of strong lip colors and I have tons lip liners but they may not perfectly. However, lipstick goes on top of lip liner that I've applied all over the lip (at least for me) so you don't see the lip liner too much.

I just use a lip liner which belongs to the same color family (similar undertones) as the lipstick I'm using. To make my lip color last longer, I not only line, but also fill in the lips with liner, before applying a layer of lipstick over it.

Re: Urgent! Mix and Match!

Why not try the Salley Hansen Clear Lipliner, it goes with anything and is not expensive. You can find it at Walmart and drugstores.

i second that.
but really if you do'nt want to see any line, you will have to find a lipliner matching your natural lip color, line your lips and fill them in a bit in order to blend.

Re: Urgent! Mix and Match!

Well I dont know cuz I dont wear any lip stuff, but I think your suppose to use a diff liner and lippie and then blend them together. The colors depend on what effect you want, subtle, dramatic or stuff like making your lips look bigger or trying to balance them out.
