Hello MUTers!
This forum is for all swatches of different makeup products (even mineral makeup) and from all different brands to help our makeup loving folks get a better visual of a product before purchasing.
Swatch- A swatch is a photo taken of the product on yourself or paper to get a view of it's color and finish in it's most true form.
- For example, the swatch of MAC Paint Pots on your hand:
Name description of each product not shown on the photo should be included in written form somewhere in your post.
- It could also include photos on close ups of the actual packaging of the product.
- For example, the packaging of MAC Paint Pots with labels faced up:
Photo image is reduced just for example purposes.
Different Forms of Swatching
(This is termed mostly for eye shadows and pigment swatches)
- No Base - the product is swatched without a primer or base product to help enhance it's color/finish/texture.
- With Base/Primer - the product is swatched over a primer or base color to help enhance it's color/finish/texture.
- Foiling/Wet - the product is applied with a foiled (wet) application to give a different finish/texture.
Threads
Where and what to post your swatches.
- The Color Swatch Request Thread is for those with a specific request on a product not posted anywhere else in the forum.
- Color Story Threads. Cosmetic lines like MAC have a Limited Edition line (for example Starflash Collection) and if you have products from that line, it would go under it's specific thread made for that collection.
- One Brand Thread. Some lines don't have Collections so they fall under just their brand thread. For instance, if you have a bunch of Urban Decay products it goes under the Urban Decay thread.
- Individualized Threads. Say you have a lot of pink eyeshadows but don't want to place them separately by brand - then you would create the "Pink Eyeshadow Swatches" and place all swatches there.
Please make sure to do a search first prior posting so there aren't any duplicate threads.
Please try limiting "Thanks You" comments on the threads. It's easier for other members to navigate and find photos of swatches.
Thank You and Swatch Away!
