Allergic to Dust

anyone here allergic to dust? i just found out that i'm allergic to dust and it makes me paranoid to clean up all the time...coz i hate having these allergies and they're all over my skin and it takes days to have them disappear.

is there any spray you use that could kill dust mites? And are there any specific cleaning tips you have with them? thanks.

Re: Allergic to Dust

I say vac*** and clean tables/countertops often.

My sister uses Pledge Dust cleaner. I don't know exactly what it's called, but it works!

Re: Allergic to Dust

And there are things you could do to reduce your exposure to them. Like getting pillows that anti-microbial and mite resistant. You can use a mattress protector that also has those same qualities. Vacuuming only gets the mites out of the carpet that are dead, not the live ones.

Always keep your shoes by the door, don't bring them into the main house area. Make sure all your windows are clean... if you see dust there, it will blow into the rest of your home. Also, you may want to buy an air purifier to remove those irritants from the air you breathe. I know it all sounds so overkill, and I wouldn't even go so far to recommend all of those to a non-allergic person. But you've already become sensitized, so you gotta do what you have to be comfortable.

Re: Allergic to Dust

I think an air purifier would be a good bet...and also don't come over to my house, the dust fairies are winning the battle these days.

Re: Allergic to Dust

I'm allergic to dust, as well, so I dust my house twice a week and vacuum right after. I also use insane amounts of Fabreeze which really helps.
