Bath towel colors - advice?

In your master bath, are all of your towels one color or do you have towels in different colors? Are all of your towels the same style (e.g. same kind of stripes on the end, etc.)?

Currently in our master bath, half of our towels are a deep red while the other half are a cream color. We love the colors (especially the red), and want to replace our towels with similar colors since our current towels are cheapo Walmart towels that are already looking nasty! We have a gift certificate for Land's End so we'd like to get the towels there. However, they don't have any cream towels in the style we want (or rather, the style cheap enough that we don't have to spend much of our own money, lol). So our choices are:

1. Get all dark red towels
2. Get a mix of dark red and white towels
3. Get dark red towels in one style, cream towels in another style

Which would you do? I am leaning towards one of the first two options.

We are looking at these towels in Deep Red and White (not sure if we'll get the monogram).

The cream towels in another style I mentioned would be these towels in Parchment (but they don't have this style in Deep Red, so sad!)

I'd go for option 1 or 2. We have a mix of lavender and sage b/c that's the colors in the master bathroom.

They are all the same style and came from JCPenney.

I agree with Lisa... option 1 or 2 sound good to me.

Re: Bath towel colors - advice?

I would say 2, for the simple reason that you would have towels for a dark load and towels for a white load.

Re: Bath towel colors - advice?

I vote for number 2 also. I use a mix of sage green and cream for my towels in a solid. Then for my "pretty" decorator towels, I have a cream towel that has a satin floral pattern with the 2 colors mixed on the ends of the towels, but my walls are monotone, so it all matches.

Re: Bath towel colors - advice?

lol, one of the main reasons I want red towels again is so I can have a red load of laundry, instead of washing my couple of red shirts by hand like I used to

Jennifer, our walls are some sort of creamy off-white color, but we'll probably only be in this apartment for a year or so, so I don't think it really matters!

Hubby has put in his vote for #2 so I think that's what we'll do
