I'm trying to determine why my dishwasher suddenly leaves soap flakes all over my dishes. This didn't happen until recently. I haven't changed detergent (well I did after this started happening, I switched to something with jet dry rinsing agent). Do you think it's my water temperature or pressure? Could this be the beginning of the end for my dishwasher?
Any insight would be appreciated!

are you sure that it's soap residue and not food? Maybe you should check the filter at the bottom if there's any food there

Has it quit happening since you switched detergents? Do you use liquid or powdered? I know we had to reduce the amount we used because of a similar problem. We used Jet Dry w/ it at the same time too. I agree w/ ilafa about checking the filter. I'd also try running it a few times w/out dishes in it w/ maybe a tad bit of bleach to see if that helps (learned this from a cleaning lady we had at a marina I worked at). Good luck! Lord knows that's got to be annoying!!!

be sure your not hand washing your dishes first.....I know it sounds crazy but some ppl do it (ocd!!) anyway, liquid detergent is really bad for the dishwasher!!! It will leave s*** on the dishes.

Jet Dry is a great product, but there's something you can use that's even cheaper, works just as well, and won't harm the machine. Plain White Vinegar. I don't buy Jet Dry anymore since I got this tip. You just put it in the little spot made for Jet Dry and it should reduce any s***/mineral deposits from hard water.
