Do you cook less in the summer?
Tonight while I was making dinner, John went around and opened all the windows so some cool air could come in... We don't have AC. I told him that was why a lot of people cook less in the summer, or at least eat "cooler" foods. I know I generally make pasta salad once a week during the summer, and dinners are shorter and require less... So, do you cook less in the summer?

Re: Do you cook less in the summer?
We cook the same regardless of the time of year ... we will eat salads in winter and soup in the summer, we are weird! lol
What affects how much we cook is how long of hours I am working! (Hubby cooked for me while I was in school, but he hated it so I usually cook now!) When I get home an hour before I have to go to bed, there's no sense cooking a real meal, so we've been eating lots of frozen dinners lately... fortunately I don't work long hours all year, just for a few weeks around our quarterly deadlines! The rest of the year we still cook quick and easy meals though, because we're lazy!

Re: Do you cook less in the summer?
I cook the same all year 'round, but I do cook a little different depending on the season. For winter we'll have more comforting foods and during the summer we probably eat a bit lighter.

Re: Do you cook less in the summer?
Even though I am lucky to have central AC I find I cook less in the summer. The outside heat makes me less hungry.

Re: Do you cook less in the summer?
I voted «no», because in the summer, I'm back at my parent's house, so they do all the cooking!! But I always cook all year long and I love it, so I always kind of miss it.

Re: Do you cook less in the summer?
Definately, I find everyone has less of an appetite during the summer so I prefer to make pasta salads and all other types of cold food; the interesting thing is that when I'm in the Caribbean I would eat 3 hot meals a day anyway lol! | |
