Eating at school
Eating in the school cafeteria has become so expensive. I have classes from 11:30 - 5 so I'm pretty much stuck there all day ... I don't have a car.
Can you girls think of anything that I can just throw my bookbag and eat at school? maybe some things that don't have to be refrigerated or heated up?

Re: Eating at school
My husband takes a sandwich, a piece of fruit (apple or banana), and some chips to work every day.

Re: Eating at school
most people i know would take sandwiches, pasties, crisps, chocolate, yogurts, fruit and veg. at college some of the girls would microwave soup or have pot noodles.

Maybe an energy/protein bar/granola bar. Soup at hand(Campbells soup), fruit.

Re: Eating at school
If you have a little insulated lunch bag, you can take anything and keep it cold. If you'd rather not mess with that, you could bring snack food like fruit, granola bars, applesauce cups, chips, etc. PB&J sandwiches also don't need to be refrigerated One semester I didn't have a lunch break so I ate a lot of PB&J sandwiches running between classes!

Re: Eating at school
Crackers, Triscuits, beef jerky, there are lots of travel sized, on-the-go items like cereal, rice cakes, fruit, veggies, raisins. Browse your grocery store and you'll see a ton..just get items that you love. Also it helps to prepare the night before (like if you're gonna have a sandwhich or spreaded crackers, etc)!

Re: Eating at school
Oh yeah, there are a lot of those individual-sized fruit cups now in the stores, just toss one of those and a plastic spoon in your bag! They work nice if you don't have any fresh fruit on hand or are too lazy to wash and cut fresh fruit

Re: Eating at school
I still make myself a sandwich with sandwich meat (turkey, ham, etc) and a slice of cheese. I put it in a plastic container so it doesn't get flat in my bag and ready. That's when I don't want to spend a lot of money and I want to eat something healthier than cookies (my cravings )
There are many other options for quick lunches in the grocery store, depending on how much you want to spend.

Re: Eating at school
I used to have an insulated bag that held a yogurt, string cheese, banana, apple and pretzels!
I love pretzels and had them at all times!
PB&J is a great option too!
