Grocery staples/Things to keep on hand!
I'm making up my grocery shopping list and I was just wondering if you have certain things that you buy every time or try to keep on hand at home. I have certain things that I get if I already have a recipe in mind that I make alot, or if I have no idea what to make for dinner, it would be easy to come up with something. So what are yours??
I always get things like, ground beef, chicken breasts, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, canned veggies, instant potatoes, fresh fruit and veggies, cheese, bread, etc.!!

fresh milk. Maybe raisin toast.
I'm a coffee snob, so I don't buy it from the supermarket, otherwise that'd be on the list too, lol

I was actually hoping you would respond because you're such a domestic Goddess, so I knew you'd have some good stuff on your list!! LOL I also want Aquilah and Nurinia to respond! Oh, and what do you do with the tomato paste?

Re: Grocery staples/Things to keep on hand!
A couple of other things that are good to keep on hand. Rice and pasta. You can pretty much throw together a guick meal with what you already have and then pasta or rice.
I also keep hummus and feta on hand, I love to snack on stuff like that. And veggies and ranch.
But I think that you were looking for staples to throw together a quick meal at the last minute.
I almost forgot, I like to have soy sauce and also Mojo Criole marinade so that I can add that to make a meal extra yummy.

Re: Grocery staples/Things to keep on hand!
Not necessarily! I was just curious what everyone keeps on hand whether it be for a quick meal or not. I was just saying that I try to keep things on hand that I could make a quick meal out of becuase half the time I don't know what to make for dinner! LOL Mmm, hummus and feta sound so good right now! I haven't heard of the mojo criole marinade. Where do you buy it? Do you marinade chicken in it?

Re: Grocery staples/Things to keep on hand!
I use it for chicken mostly. I find it in the aisle with the Taco stuff. I usually marinate the chicken breast in that. Then throw them on the grill (well dh throws them on the grill) and we have red beans and rice with it. It is so yummy.
I also keep stuff like Eggs, tuna and cheese on hand in case I get in the mood for sandwich. The kids love waffles and pancakes so we always have that kind of stuff on hand too.

Re: Grocery staples/Things to keep on hand!
I don't do my own grocery shopping but sometimes I buy basic stuff for at my bfs house to make quick meals, then I can add in whatever.
-Chicken stock (can go in anything, rice, tomato sauce for pasta, gives great flavor to anything and everything)
-Minute Rice
-Tortillas (flour and corn)
- Canned tomato sauce
- Coke (Soda not the other kind hehe)
- Salad mix
- Chicken breasts
- ground beef
-Pasta
-Shredded cheese
-Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Pepper and Salt
- Hambuger Helper stroganoff, for when you don't want to cook but don't want take out lol. I always want this (I LOVE it, seriously) but my bf always does the "awwww nahhhhhhh" kind of thing.
