If you have a problem with mice or rats, one way to get rid of them is with soda pop. Mice and rats lack the ability to burp. Simply pour pop into a shallow dish and place it near where the mice or rats are entering your home. The rodents will drink the sweet soft drink and later, when they can't burp, they will die.
Right next to walls usually works best for any type of bait or traps, as does under sinks where they may like to hide out, or underneath your stove. Put a new dish down daily because the carbonation only lasts so long.

that's we got a cat! he earns his keep. One year when it was turning cooler outside he got 3 in one night and had them all lined up evenly on the kitchen floor. Nice thing to wake up to. He seemed proud.

Aw, I feel bad for the mice. I'm like the room mate in Failure to Launch. I'll do anything during the hunt for unwelcome critters and after the kill I feel horrid.
