I didn't know where to post this..I guess this is the best place. Anyways, for months I have browsed to try to find some new furniture for my room and I can't find anything! I bought this wonderful unique desk from an old lady moving to Hawaii. I wish I could contact her now, because I can't figure out the finish of the furniture and I can't find anything that would match it. It's wooden..that's all I know! lol Should I just settle for the most similar thing I can find? Help Please! I really am in need of some furniture b/c I just moved and I haven't got that much stuff!

It's not as necessary for you to match the finish of the furniture. By that I am thinking you mean matching the color of the stain. What is more important is to know the style of the furniture so that you can mix it with other pieces. One thing I have learned in mixing furniture is that you can mix traditional piece with other traditional pieces, i.e., tradition French with English or Italian . But if you have a county look then you need to mix different types of county. i.e, French country with English country. I hope this helps.
