O-bento - japanese boxed lunches
Ok, so I'm a little nerdy, but I was watching anime the other day ( Blood+), and they showed two of the characters eating out of a lunch box. They called it bento, which made me curious enough to check out the meaning. I found a bunch of info, and I've fallen head over heels in love with it!
" Japanese moms often pack bento lunches for their husbands and children, and it is almost a contest in some circles to see who can pack the cutest lunch for their kid."
My favorite sites out of this is a japanese blog and it perfectly illustrates that description above (I have no idea what her blog says, but the pictures speak for themselves!):

and
http://www.e-obento.com/mainichi-Frame-set.htm
I think it's so gorgeous, and being a lover of all things Japanese, I'm so eager to try this out myself. Maybe not crazy ones like that, but more sane looking ones like these:

I had to share the love!

I'm just so jealous that the lunch consists of such yummy food! Forget the bologna sandwiches.

I love bento but I have never seen such creativity before. Those are great. That would be so cool to have a lunch that looked like that.

Re: O-bento - japanese boxed lunches
That is so cute and the food looks yummy, but I wouldn't want to destroy the beautiful "art"!
