Replaced a ceiling fan.

Our 20+ year old fan in the bed room was sounding funny so we ordered a new one with a light this time and a remote control. Took about an hour to tear off he old one, put together and install the new one. Really works nice...

Re: Replaced a ceiling fan.

Don't need to hold the motor.... All the new ones come with hooks so you can hange the motor while you hook up the wiring... I actually wired it up hot.. This was really nice because oncce you place the motor on the hook you just swing it up and attach the 4 mounting screws...

Re: Replaced a ceiling fan.

The remote is great and it even comes with a wall switch that has a remote built in so you don't actually have to wire up a switch to the fan...

Re: Replaced a ceiling fan.

wow, Rebecca!! That would be scarry!! I went up in the attic and installed extra support to hold the weight when I first installed the original fans... So I know for sure they are not coming down...

Most brands make add on remotes that you can install.. The receiving unit gets wired into the base and syncs with the remote.. Really easy to do.. Looks like around $60..
