Now that my husband and I have purchased our own home, I finally have the space to build my dream vanity area. I'm taking the third bedroom as my craft room/vanity area so space is not an issue. The only problem is...I can't decide on what I want. I've pretty much ruled out traditional vanities such as these...

...because they don't offer enough storage area for the amount of space they take up.

I've also been looking at desks because they offer more storage and room. I like both of these but I'd still have to find some sort of storage unit to put beside it.



Finally, I've been thinking about a computer amoire. They're big and roomy, can be closed off to hide a mess, and my hubby told me he could rig some lights inside so that I have better lighting. So far, I like this one the best...

I could rearrange the shelves to suit my makeup needs and there's even a matching unit.

EDIT: Ooh...and I just found this one, too! It's really cute!



But, I just can't decide...More than anything, it has to be functional. I want to be able to reach most of my makeup while sitting down and I don't want to feel cramped.

What do ya'll think? I need all the ideas, advice, and pictures that you guys can give me. I'm also a sucker for storage and organization ideas so please include those, too.

I like the last one the most!

The last one is my favorite but you might have to buy something separate to store the things you dont use often as it seems that any mess might be obvious.

my faves are the second and the last, they're both cute. for the lights, you can buy some Osram "dot-it" lamps, they're great.

Ooh, those are really pretty! I was thinking about the storage, too; I could put some cute cups on the shelves with my pencils and what not but I would definately put the rest of it away in a drawer type container as that vanity would look very messy very fast. Thanks for the pics!

I love the Ikea vanity but I really don't want to spend $500 on it. I think I coud find a better deal if I shopped around for a while. It sure is pretty, though...

I think I'm getting the Ikea vanity for Christmas... it is a lot, but I love it.

Abigail, I really like the second one you posted, and the third one Adrienne posted. You can definitely find a less expensive (and probably nicer) vanity instead of the Ikea one.
