Sheets/Comforter Question Please Help!

LOL! I need help...Okay... I'm not dumb, but I always had a full bed when I lived at home, and whenever I bought sheets, etc. they fit.

Living on my own now... I have a queen size bed. I noticed that whenever I buy queen size sheets they don't fit too well. I bought the comfiest, ralph lauren bed in a bag set. The comforter is perfect, but the sheets are kinda on the small side.

Do I buy the king size bed in a bag set? The comforter would be an extra 8 inches on each side. That's kinda too long I think, but I'm not too sure.

The bf wants the king size set. Do people do that though, use king size on a queen size bed? Does anyone know is there much of a difference? Like I said, I don't think the sheets will be a problem. anyone?

If it is a pillowtop mattress, you have to find the queen size sheet set that fits pillowtops.

Re: Sheets/Comforter Question Please Help!

you need to be sure you are buying deepset sheets. look on the side of your sheets set and it will tell you how deep they go.
we have a HUGE pillowtop queen and the best buy for the money deepset sheets we've found are from bedbath&beyond- the 600thread count store brand- 18" deep. i buy them when we get a 20% coupon in the mail.

Okay, so I need deepset? Never knew any of that! Thanks ladies! Basically I really can't be buying a bed in a bag then. That sucks I really did love my ralph lauren set. I can get sheets to go with it, but the ralph sheets were so comfortable... i'll miss them.

Re: Sheets/Comforter Question Please Help!

We have a ralph lauren sheet set that was made deepset for a pillowtop bed, but my mom works in Dillard's so she found them for me, they make them in "bed in a bags", they are just hard to find sometimes. If all else fails, Walmart!!!

Re: Sheets/Comforter Question Please Help!

I have that problem too... I've bought sheets that don't fit my pillow top matteress. I suggest Charter Club sheets... oh my goodness... they are the most comfortable sheets I've ever felt. I bought them at Macy's when they are having a sale. They are demask stripes 400 thread count. I loved them. I've bought other sheet sets and nothing has ever compared to these. I've been buying them since Macy's used to be Burdines in Fl... when I was 18! I've bought 3 sets so far... lol

Re: Sheets/Comforter Question Please Help!

We have a queen size bed with a feather mattress, and the fitted sheet seems too big too. I think it has to do with the way sheets are made these days. I didn't by us a bed in a bag, but rather got a queen size sheet set, and a king size comforter set. That way, there's less fighting over who has more blanket. That's the fight in our house, blankets, not sheets.
