Re: What kind of oil do you use for cooking?
Extra-virgin olive oil when I can, or canola oil if I'm cooking at a higher heat. (I also use canola cooking spray instead of oil whenever I can get away with it.) I think those are two of the healthiest oils out there -- I know vegetable oil isn't very good for you!
I do love sesame oil when cooking Asian food, but I've always heard you should use it as a seasoning and not as a cooking oil, so I just mix it into sauces and such.

Ya, veg oil contains more fat than canola. I tried switching to veg oil from canola when someone told me that the food will be less greasy, but I didn't like it that much. So I switched back to canola.
I also use sesame oil for some Chinese and Thai recipes.

Re: What kind of oil do you use for cooking?
EVOO 99.9% of the time. When I'm baking or cooking something I wouldn't use EVOO for, I use a light-colored vegetable oil or canola oil.

Re: What kind of oil do you use for cooking?
We only use Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
If we're cooking exotic, we'll use Sesame or Peanut.
