Question Swap Requests

Hey Tony

A suggestion for swaps. When someone sends a request is it possible to include in the swap request a direct link to the requester's swap items?

Did that make sense?

Yep, that is a good idea. That is why they already do it that way. Look in the emails you receive, either the request COPY or the request email. I should say, "Click here to view this swap item". This will take you directly to the person's swap item. From there you can see alot about this person: ratings, swapitems, swap editor etc. THe links should be all at the top of the swap page. I think since you all of you are seconding this and thirding this, that you are not looking at the swap page's options.

Let me know if I am confused on what you are looking for

Super shortest Cut

Well I think she meant that when she receives a request, she'd like to be able to automatically see the item that the person has suggested trading. I saw those options that you wrote about and they are handy and intuitive, but I think she was just trying to see if there was an automatic and specific way to plug in the particular item up for swap so that she did not have to wade through all of the person's items. A super short-cut so to speak.
Correct???

No Tony, the link went to my swap items, it should go to the swap requesters swap items so I can see what they have to swap.

Lazy Way

ok, how bout my idea to have the option to automatically plug in the url of the specific item that you want to trade for when you make a request? That's a more lazy and quicker way to do it, eh? (it would be an automated option) ...

Hope I'm expressing the concept ok.

ok so would you like another field to be available for entering the URLl? Or how do you suggest we do this?

It would be hard to select (instead of entering the URL) if you had a lot of swaps there.

Let me know what you think

(ps what does MuA have?)

Ok so, girls......how is this:

What if we did this: When the requestor does her requesting and in the body of that email, a link to the requestor's swaplist is displayed

Let me know

Ok Girls II

Ok Girls II

Can you'all review this:

We were thinking, above the text area where you type your info, that we provide a drop down menu that shows all the SWAP ITEMS the REQUESTOR has setup already and ask her to choose one when requesting a swap. Once she chooses HER swap via the dropdown menu and enters her request, after Submitting, the email would pick and send this information to both parties. This will not need the requestor to know the URL(LINK) at all.

Since we are tracking who the logged in user is, we can easily show the Swap Items of the afformentioned user.

Futhermore, this will ensure that a user NOT having any Swap Item's cannot request a Swap since she has nothing to swap.

Caligirl, Allison, TD, can you kindly take a look at this closely and let me know asap so I can proceed with the programming.

Arrow Feedback

This sounds good. My only addition would be to add an option to choose "other" from the menu rather than choosing a particular swap item on the menu. Choosing the "other" option would enable the person to offer money instead of a swap. Would that be ok or would it defeat the entire purpose of swapping? Can it be an option on the menu too? What do you think?

Thanks,
Calif.
