6 degrees to Jan Marini...

Guess what just landed on my desk today???
The newest Jan Marini Lash Conditioner! I don't think it has even hit retail!
For those who know- Jan Marini was under investigation for their old conditioner, having to do with compounds found in Glaucoma medications.

So, it went off the market. until NOW. well, not even now. It hasn't hit the market yet! I am so excited.

Nothing out there worked like Jan Marini! You should have seen my friend's lashes. They were CRAZY long! When I went to buy it for myself, it had already started getting pulled from the market.

Well, now I have the newest version, sitting on my desk.

And HOW did this bottle fall on my desk you ask??? Because my boss’s old sales partner is married to Jan Marini herself, so therefore our company is their merchandising distributor, and I am their Project Coordinator in charge of the new product launch- I am making all the promotional stuff and LE gift with purchase stuff!!!

Super excited! I can’t say what the gifts are, but they are SUPER cute! Better be, for $160/bottle of lash conditioner! I can’t show a picture of the new las conditioner either, as I am not sure that I am allowed to, but I can say- they are spending a ton of money on some seriously awesome gifts.
and the new packaging and branding image is pretty awesome. I think they may possibly move into selling to a wider market than dermatologists, aestheticians, and plastic surgeons.

Anyway- I almost had a heart attack when I opened the envelope and pulled it out.

Re: 6 degrees to Jan Marini...

The original Jan Marini got pulled for the inclusion of a drug, and then the second Jan Marini was pulled for infringing on some patent another drug company has, and now there's a third Jan Marini.

I wonder if Jan Marini and Revitalash work better than the cheaper alternatives, especially now that it has been reformulated. I have heard good things about the original Jan Marini, but the possible consequences scare me.

Please let us know how the new formula works out, Jen! The only think that irks me is that you have to apply it religiously every night, and after a while, I get bored of things and I tend to forget.

I never heard of this stuff.

That sounds awesome that you are in charge of making all the promotional gifts... fun, fun.

Ashley, you know your beauty products.

Re: 6 degrees to Jan Marini...

I wonder how it will work too. It's hard to know when it was such a miracle conditioner.

Back history:It's a pretty well known side effect that bimatoprost, the ingredient in the glaucoma medicine, Lumigen, (by the way- made by the same people who make Botox), made eyelashes grow longer (as well as eye redness, ichhiness, and nerve damage). As a matter of fact, doctors have been known to prescribe it to non-glaucoma patients just for this benefit.
And it was Lumigen that had all the lash conditioners on the market pull the ingredient for infringement. Lumigen is currently doing research on the drug ingredient in order to bring it to the cosmetic world (just like Botox).

But the price is the same as it always was, I don't know the new "approved" magic ingredient... but I don't care- I am willing to try it, especially as I got it free.
