Conditioner for shaving?

i was in the shower this morning - got my pits shaved and one leg before i realized i was totally out of shave gel (hubby and son both wear bald heads so i never know that status of shave gel in my house!). i decided to try my hair conditioner, pantene for woc! i can't believe the difference in my legs. the one with the shave gel is fine, but the one with the conditioner is fantastic! i can't believe it made that much difference. i think from now on i'll just leave the shave gel for the guys! lol~

Re: Conditioner for shaving?

That's awesome! I've been wanting to use conditioner to shave but have been forgetting about it so I'm going to try this next time and see what kind of difference I get.

Re: Conditioner for shaving?

Yeah!!! That's all I use and I shave a lot!! Just about everything below my eye brows!! Lol. Its super slick and leaves the skin way softer than shaving cream or gel... And goes a long way.. I couldn't afford to use that much shaving creame!!

Re: Conditioner for shaving?

I've tried both and I don't think it makes a difference for me. But then, its been a long time since I used shaving forms/gel, probably 4 years now so it might have made a difference but I just can't remember now

Re: Conditioner for shaving?

I've been doing this for years. It's cheaper for us plus we normally run out of shampoo and I'm one of those weirdos where my shampoo and conditioner have to be the same name and formula or I won't use them.

I've tried it, but I'm not a fan. I'll stick with my shaving gel.

Re: Conditioner for shaving?

I read on the back of my Paul Mitchell conditioner that it could be used as a shave gel but I never tried it! That's too funny!

Re: Conditioner for shaving?

I only do this if I run out of shaving gel and I don't wanna step out of the shower to get more. It's not bad, but there wasn't really any noticeable difference for me.

I use a sugar scrub, same idea as conditioner though!

Re: Conditioner for shaving?

I've used conditioner in place of shaving gel a couple of times. This is helpful especially if you are traveling and need the space but it does muck up your blades and you end up having to throw them out sooner. At least that's what I found. Your mileage may vary.

Re: Conditioner for shaving?

I use MaryKay bodywash and shave. Works great. I think any kind of body wash will work fine.
