My bar soap revival!
i couple years ago i swore off of bar soaps all together. i thought that they were too drying and decided to opt for a natural shower gel. though i still love my shower gels (eo products specifically) i've been using bar soaps more often lately.
my latest loves an organic bar soap from aubrey organics in honeysuckle rose and a soap from lush called sexy peel. ![]() who else is going back to basics and what are you using these days? i'd love to try something new and different! |

Re: My bar soap revival!
On my body, I have been using Irish Spring bar soap for years.
Love the smell and it is pretty inexpensive. But I still use a liquid cleanser on my face.

Re: My bar soap revival!
I found Sexy Peel from Lush to be very drying - so watch out for that (smells divine though!). Actually I found all LUSH soaps to be drying - it could be just me though. I like handmade soaps made with olive oil or any nice oils and no animal fat (which most soap is made from). I use one from a local company called "Kogi Naturals" and one from "Kama Soaps". I am a total soap fiend!

Re: My bar soap revival!
well there's my beloved alep soap. funny story, between the exams and an ayurvedic soap (supposedly working on acne...) i got pimples everywhere on my face. i went back to my alep soap and three days after they were all gone.
i found a massage soap for my mom (part of mother's day gift) with seaweeds. mom and i also love scented soaps, we used to buy them at a local store on the port (they were handmade). and if they didn't have ingredients for their marine soap, our day was ruined ![]()

Re: My bar soap revival!
I really can't get into using bar soap because I find them so messy! I hate the way they look after they've been wet.

Re: My bar soap revival!
I use liquid body wash in the shower, but we have a bar of soap by the bathroom sink. I'm not sure of the company name, but its an natural vanilla soap. It's brownish colored and has specks of vanilla bean through out it. It smells Yummy too!

Re: My bar soap revival!
Oh yeah! I use bar soap for the most part. For my face... Clinque and for the body... gold DIAL. Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know, not the most moisturizing, but its a very hard habit to break since I've been using it as a child. I over compensate with body oil.

Re: My bar soap revival!
i love bar soaps, they're the most gentle for me but mine tend to melt under the water, so i have to use an old tupperware box to store them.

Re: My bar soap revival!
I'm the exact opposite I can't stand Shower gels cause I feel they don't hydrate enough. I have been usind Dove Nutrium since I was like 10, I don't even have to put lotion on afterwards cause it's so moisturizing, I also use it to shave.
