Perfume sample woes and tiny rant
Ah, Sephora, it's a bitter love we share !
So i read about the new Golce Gabbana perfumes based on tarot cards, and they sound so promising i wanted to try them out. So i go to Sephora, smell three of them and i find i like them all (The Moon, the Empress and the Magician). So i decide to pick the one i seem to like best and ask for a sample.
Used to be a time you could ask and get one perfume sample for free, and i really think it's not asking for the moon.
Now, as i have been told, you can perfume yourself (over my own ? Yeah, sure, sure) or spray on your handkerchief, "which will last for one week" (yes, except i'm allergic, so it's disposable tissues for me, not the bacteria friendly cotton).
You can only get samples if you buy something. Well, i was going to buy my Yes To Carrots conditioner, but oh wait, since it's not longer new, you don't carry the brand anymore ! Plus, last time i bought something, luckily i had a brother.
It really sounds like that mythical snake that eats its own tail, because they've never been generous on perfume samples, those they have don't always match your desires, and ultimately that bottle cannot be sold so instead of burning on the shelves they should just use it. Don't serve me that cheap argument people never buy the full sizes after. Plus, i've always been told if perfume is so pricey it's because of the samples. Why am i not convinced this change of policy will NOT result in a price drop ? How can you ask me to spend that much money in a bottle of perfume when i don't know how the fragrance will react once in contact with my skin ?
I like the mall i went to, i hate that Sephora with its lousy CS, i hope it's just this store's policy. I'm sick of having to walk the capital to find all my stuff, and i'm a parisian, i have multiple rather big stores at my disposal, the ladies outside Paris don't, how can they cope ? (OMG, i sound like an addict here, eek ! *eyeroll*)
