Preference in fragrance changing

I'm in my late 20s now. I've notice my preference in fragrance has changed. When I was in my teens and early to mid 20s, I gravitated towards the fruitier scents like Baby Doll YSL or any of the Escada stuff. I liked the Clean line of fragrances like Fresh Laundry.

Now, I'm starting to prefer and gravitate towards frags. like White Linen, Beautiful, Chanel N*5., etc... you know the stuff that I thought were for grannies and older women when I was younger.

Could it be that my body chemistry is changing as I'm aging so the sweet fruity stuff isn't smelling too good anymore? Or is my taste in frags. getting more mature/sophisticated.

Has anyone thought of this? Going thru it?

I don't know about body chemistry changing, but it totally makes sense that your tastes would mature/be more sophisticated. Just like clothing you loved in your teens might not be what you like nowadays. A lot of my friends stopped using the fruity smelling stuff, but I still love it .

I think taste definately does change as you get older. I personally like sweeter scents like cotton candy, vanilla etc. but, I also know that I am loving smells like Pleasures Exotic and Amazing Grace! Never used too, now I Love them!!

Re: Preference in fragrance changing

mine has changed too. I liked sweet scents with a hint of sharpness/freshness, like gucci 2, ralph lauren - romance, miss dior - cherie.

Now I also like things like white linen, and 'granny' scents, but also much more aggressive 'sexy' scents like armand bassi - red (most people haven't heard of this but it has ginger and woody scents in it - it took a while to get used to but now I love it!)

I still avoid really heavy scents, which I think is age related, but I do like more 'adult' fragrances, rather than just the sweet stuff

Re: Preference in fragrance changing

I was very into fruity stuff in my teens, now i'm more into the floral stuff. Usually i also look for something with musc in it, but that's always been something i liked in perfumes.

Oh, and i don't limit myself to women fragrances
